Sichuan Festival 2025: A Culinary Extravaganza in Nakano!
The much-anticipated
Sichuan Festival 2025 will take place from
May 10 to May 11 at Nakano Central Park. Organized by the Sichuan Festival Executive Committee, which includes the Malai Alliance, Tokiro Co., Ltd., and Nakano City Tourist Association, this event marks the seventh iteration of the celebration dedicated to the beloved Mapo Tofu.
14 Restaurants, 23 Types of Mapo Tofu
This gourmet festival will feature
14 different restaurants, each showcasing their own unique versions of Mapo Tofu, collectively offering
23 varieties. Attendees can expect a rich selection ranging from Michelin-starred establishments to experimental dishes that push culinary boundaries. The participating restaurants include:

Chen Mapo Tofu - Claiming the title as the birthplace of Mapo Tofu, they offer classic dishes starting at
¥900.

Sawada Restaurant - Enjoy a Michelin-star experience with their signature Mapo Tofu for
¥900.

Chin Family Private Kitchen - Known for its innovative takes, their famous Mapo Tofu and knife-cut noodles start at
¥600.

Flavor House - Experience a fusion of flavors with their lamb Mapo Tofu for
¥1,000.

Yangchan Malatang - A collaboration with a popular YouTuber, offering their Sichaun-style hotpot at
¥800.

With such diversity on the menu, the festival truly embraces the evolution of Mapo Tofu, highlighting its place in contemporary Chinese cuisine.
Guest Appearances and Activities
The festival promises not only gastronomic delights but also entertaining performances and special guest appearances. MCing the event will be the familiar face,
Rakusei from San'yutei, alongside
Yangchan, a renowned YouTuber specializing in Sichuan cuisine. Guests include celebrities such as
Morli, known for her love of Bruce Lee, and members of the
Chinese Railways Research Association.
Additionally, the theme song for Sichuan Festival, performed by
Panda Hall, will add to the festive atmosphere. Nearby, the
Shiki no Mori Park will host a Chinese flea market featuring authentic Chinese goods and memorabilia, providing an interactive experience for festival attendees.
Event Details
The festival is expected to draw approximately
50,000 visitors. It will open its gates on
May 10 from 11 AM to 5 PM and
May 11 from 10 AM to 4 PM, with free entry. However, dishes will be available only until they sell out, so arriving early is advisable!
The
