ReLIKE Expands Its Presence
Free Standard Inc., led by President Takao Jyo, is excited to announce the grand opening of its second certified circular store,
ReLIKE, located on the second floor of
Tokyu Department Store in Kichijoji, Musashino City, Tokyo. This limited-time store will operate for approximately one year, starting on
April 15, 2025.
What is ReLIKE?
ReLIKE is a new type of circular store that connects people and items in an innovative way. It allows customers who have cherished their brand items for years to pass them on, ensuring they meet the brand's official guidelines for maintenance. Such a unique concept fosters not only sustainable consumption but also an emotional connection between the buyers and their purchases.
Since launching its
Retailor service in 2022, Free Standard has collaborated with numerous brands and manufacturers to develop certified reuse projects. As public awareness of certified reuse products grows, consumers have expressed a desire to explore products from multiple brands rather than just one.
Responding to Consumer Demand
Many companies echo this sentiment, wishing to highlight their commitment to a circular economy by collaborating with various partners. Brands are eager for opportunities that extend beyond simple reuse—wanting the chance to prolong the life of items that may show slight wear, returned goods, or other items that still hold value but are not suitable for new sales.
In response, Free Standard has created a circular store stocked with products from brands committed to sustainability. Earlier in 2024, they hosted short-term pop-up events in Daikanyama at Forest Gate, alongside a collaborative event in February 2025 at Tokyu Plaza Harajuku, aimed at promoting companies' contributions to a circular society. The positive feedback from these events prompted the openings of the first store in Shibuya, followed by the second in Kichijoji.
A Unique Shopping Experience Awaits
The Kichijoji store will leverage its dual status as both a certified and curated store to offer customers a truly unique shopping experience. Each month will feature different themes; in April, customers can look forward to imported fashion, while May focuses on footwear, and June showcases sportswear. With a diverse range of products curated every month, customers can look forward to discovering something new every time they visit.
For those items that won't be available in-store the following month, they can still be found online at the circular store, ensuring continuous access to desirable products. Both the in-store and online platforms will regularly update customers about the featured themes and brands.
Moreover, in addition to selling certified resale products, ReLIKE plans to deepen its collaborations by highlighting special events. These may include partnerships with nearby brand flagship stores, selling previously unreleased country-specific archive products, and showcasing upcoming product launches to provide customers with a truly exclusive shopping adventure.
