Introduction
The innovative MaaS platform,
Chikakumo, developed in Suginami, has announced the integration of
LUUP port information, set to be available from
December 18. This collaboration aims to streamline mobility options for residents while fostering new value by combining transportation and nearby activities.
The Significance of This Collaboration
Developed with the support of
Val Research Institute,
Chikakumo seeks to improve local mobility convenience, addressing the last mile transit challenges. The addition of LUUP, which offers electric kickboards and electric assist bicycles as an easy-to-use micro-mobility service, is expected to supplement existing public transport systems. By integrating this information, the collaboration intends to respond to diverse commuting needs within Suginami and promote smoother travel experiences.
How to Access LUUP Information
Users of the
Chikakumo app will be able to view LUUP port locations and availability data directly on the in-app map and search results. This feature will present accurate location data for LUUP ports where users can find electric kickboards and bicycles, enabling them to plan their travel routes from the station to their final destination. This flexibility allows for the combination of different modes of transport such as walking, cycling, and public transit.
Future Directions
Both LUUP and Val Research Institute are committed to enhancing the mobility experiences for Suginami residents. Beyond the mere integration of information, they are looking into further functionalities and area expansion to support sustainable urban development and tackle regional challenges.
