Success of Fashion Source Shenzhen and Shenzhen's Original Design Fashion Week AU25 Marks a New Era for Fashion Industry
A New Chapter for the Chinese Fashion Industry
The 30th edition of Fashion Source Shenzhen and the Shenzhen Original Design Fashion Week for Autumn/Winter 2025 came to a triumphant close on April 2, 2025, at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. Spanning an impressive 40,000 square meters and featuring over 800 exhibitors across eight thematic sections, the event attracted nearly 40,000 industry professionals over three days. This event showcased the deep integration of innovation within industrial chains, highlighting a significant transformation in the Chinese fashion sector, which is evolving from large-scale growth to a focus on value-based innovation.
The fair emphasized the comprehensive synergy of the supply chain, fostering efficient collaboration between global brands and local manufacturers. This collaboration propelled original design efforts and the Chinese fashion narrative, shifting from being a market follower to setting trends. By promoting business meetings, technical collaborations, and trend presentations, the fair provided a dynamic platform for cross-industry cooperation and commercial advancement.
Sustainability and forward-thinking innovation were cornerstone themes at the event. From groundbreaking knitwear trends at Fashion Source 26SS to the interactive Urlib Select Zone, attendees were exposed to a holistic vision of how materials, craftsmanship, and technology converge to shape the future of fashion.
The Shenzhen Original Design Fashion Week for Autumn/Winter 2025, themed “Shaping the New Origin,” showcased more than 80 emerging designers and brands through an inspiring blend of fashion shows and exhibition halls. Initiatives like the “Stellar Starter” program showcased the increasing integration of academic, industrial, and global resources aimed at accelerating the journey of original design from conception to market.
Moreover, the Fashion Source China Supply Chain Summit, themed “Zero-Based Mindset,” provided a dual platform consisting of a main summit and an innovative subsite, MoFun Fabrics. This event united over 60 global pioneers to explore eight key dimensions: emerging brands, fabric innovation, cutting-edge technology, material revolution, trends in sportswear, sustainable fashion, original design, and intangible cultural heritage craftsmanship. These forward-looking dialogues examined how technology, culture, and commerce converge to shape a resilient and future-ready fashion industry.
Although the curtains have drawn, the journey does not end here. From June 25 to 27, the Fashion Source Innovation in Shanghai will debut at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, leveraging Eastern China’s strengths to connect global resources. Additionally, the 31st edition of Fashion Source Shenzhen and the Spring/Summer 2026 Original Design Fashion Week will return to Shenzhen from November 19 to 21, reuniting international peers to collectively explore the future of the fashion industry.
