Tokyo Education Festa 2026: An Opportunity for Aspiring Teachers

Tokyo Education Festa 2026, a special event designed for those interested in teaching careers. Scheduled for
October 18, 2026, from
10 AM to 5 PM at
Bellesalle Shibuya Garden, this festival will provide a unique platform for participants to engage with current educators and learn about the realities of teaching.
About the Event
This year marks the
fifth installment of the Tokyo Education Festa, expanding on the previous year which attracted nearly
1,000 attendees. With a focus on firsthand engagement, the event aims to inspire and inform future educators through a variety of interactive experiences. Attendees will have the chance to hear from renowned education critic
Naoki Ogi, participate in seminars led by active teachers, and discover insights into work-life balance, welfare, and employment conditions.
A total of
25 engaging programs are planned, tailored to the interests of both students and working adults. Highlights include:
- - Lectures and Talk Sessions: Featured discussions with Naoki Ogi and current teachers, focusing on key themes such as work style reforms and benefits.
- - Seminars and Round-Table Discussions: Opportunities for attendees to learn about various teaching roles across different school types and gain perspective on daily responsibilities.
- - Hands-On Experiences: Activities such as lesson planning, teacher training workshops, and mock lessons, making it possible for middle and high school students to connect with the teaching profession.
- - Individual Counseling Booths for Career Changers: Personalized guidance for those considering a switch to teaching, including information on employment options available immediately.
- - Showcasing Tokyo’s Diverse Education System: Presentations on schools across Tokyo, highlighting teachers making an impact in various communities, including remote islands.
Who Should Attend?
This event is open to a wide audience, including high school and university students, as well as working adults interested in becoming teachers. Middle school students are also welcome to attend. Participants who may have obtained a teaching license but lack experience, or those who have been away from teaching due to childcare or caregiving responsibilities, are encouraged to join.
