Hydrexia Enters Vietnamese Market with Major Hydrogen Contract: Pioneering Sustainable Energy Solutions

Hydrexia Partners with KPT in Vietnam for Hydrogen Solutions

In a significant development for the hydrogen sector, Hydrexia SDN BHD, wholly owned by Hydrexia Holding Limited, has secured a major commercial agreement with KPT Chemical Group in Vietnam. Known for its dedication to environmental solutions, KPT will collaborate with Hydrexia to deploy advanced hydrogen technology in the region, marking a pivotal step in Hydrexia's international expansion.

The deal, announced on April 13, 2026, encompasses Hydrexia's provision of innovative products such as the magnesium-based solid-state container (MHX) and mobile hydrogen refueling station (MHRS). This partnership enables KPT to leverage its established position in the hydrogen market, optimizing market uptake for sustainable energy solutions in Vietnam.

This partnership is notable as it signifies a major stride for Hydrexia in Southeast Asia, following their successful hydrogen projects in other nations. The recent regional roadshow of the MHX product solidified interest among potential customers, demonstrating the product's safety and effectiveness, essential to modern hydrogen applications.

Strategies for Sustainable Energy

Under the terms of the agreement, hydrogen will be supplied from the Darul Hana H2 Plant located in Kuching, Sarawak, through collaboration with SEDC Energy. This facility has a significant production capacity of around 150 kg per day, reflecting ongoing enhancements in output to meet the evolving market demands. The modular solutions, particularly the MHX, serve a crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient storage, transport, and deployment across various hydrogen applications.

Hydrexia's CEO for Southeast Asia, George Gan, expressed enthusiasm for entering the Vietnamese market through the collaboration with KPT. He stated, "We are delighted to tap into the Vietnamese market through our local partner, KPT. We are confident in our ability to leverage our comprehensive hydrogen solutions and products to facilitate the needs of our customers." Gan also indicated a commitment to expanding cooperation with KPT in the future.

On the other hand, John Tay, COO of KPT, highlighted that Hydrexia's innovative hydrogen solutions directly align with KPT’s long-term goals of fostering a hydrogen ecosystem within Vietnam. He articulated a vision of developing a green hydrogen environment that encompasses all aspects of production, transport, and storage. Tay emphasized the belief that this partnership can effectively merge their market and technological strengths to unlock countless hydrogen-related business opportunities.

Commitment to Local Markets

For Hydrexia, tapping into the Vietnamese market is part of a broader strategy to solidify its presence in the growing hydrogen sector across the region. The agreement not only showcases Hydrexia’s technology solutions but also reaffirms their commitment to collaborate with local entities in advancing green energy initiatives. To date, Hydrexia has partnered with several leading companies to promote sustainable energy solutions within Southeast Asia, underscoring their long-term vision for a cleaner and more sustainable future.

In summary, the partnership between Hydrexia and KPT presents immense potential for enhancing hydrogen technology utilization in Vietnam. The collaboration is expected to lead to innovative solutions that not only address local energy needs but also contribute to the broader aim of a greener, more sustainable energy future. With ongoing developments in hydrogen technology, stakeholders in Vietnam can anticipate significant advancements in environmental solutions in the coming years.
