NOK Corporation Partners with Fukushima City Half Marathon 2025

NOK Corporation, based in Minato-ku, Tokyo, will proudly participate for the first time as a sponsor of the Fukushima City Half Marathon 2025. The event will take place on May 18, 2025, organized by the Fukushima City Half Marathon Executive Committee in collaboration with various local organizations, including the Fukushima City Sports Promotion Foundation.

On the day of the marathon, ten employees from the NOK Group will not only run but also support the event by managing water stations, ensuring that participants stay hydrated along the course. This event, which is set for its third edition, expects approximately 5,000 runners to navigate a scenic route around Fukushima City, drawing significant attention and participation from the community. Including staff and supporters, the total attendance is projected to exceed 9,000 individuals.

As a company deeply rooted in Fukushima, with multiple production facilities in the region, NOK is committed to enhancing the vibrancy of the local community through initiatives like this marathon.

Community Support Initiatives by NOK Group

NOK Group will be actively involved in several ways during the Fukushima City Half Marathon 2025:

• - Water Station Operations: A team of 36 NOK employees will manage the water station located at the 10km mark near the Fukushima Toyota Crown Arena. This crucial support will contribute significantly to the hydration and well-being of all runners participating in the marathon.

• - Novelty Distribution at Sponsor Booth: At the FINISH area, specifically at the welcoming park set up at Seiden Corporation WINDY Stadium, NOK will distribute their branded hair ties, KKOOR, to the first 1,000 attendees. These hair ties will come in a set of three colors, inspired by the marathon logo: pink, light blue, and white.

The KKOOR hair tie, a direct-to-consumer product launched in February 2024, features a unique design that secures hair effortlessly while being easy to remove. Its durability and resistance to sweat and water make it particularly suitable for sports activities.
