Conan Exiles Enhanced: A Free Visual Upgrade Set to Transform the Game

In an exciting announcement, Funcom® has revealed a significant visual upgrade for the online survival game, Conan Exiles, titled Conan Exiles Enhanced. In collaboration with Inflexion Games, this free upgrade is set to launch on May 5, in celebration of the game’s upcoming 8th anniversary on May 8, 2026.

The new version, built on Unreal Engine 5, promises dramatically improved graphics, enhanced performance, and cutting-edge rendering technology. Players, both new and returning, will benefit from an enriched experience that revitalizes the harsh world of Conan, providing deeper immersion and engagement.

One of the standout features of Conan Exiles Enhanced is its commitment to smooth gameplay. The upgrade aims for over 60 frames per second across various settings, catering to a wide range of PC environments, and even ensuring high performance on the Steam Deck. Players can expect to explore the visually stunning landscapes and intricate details of Conan's realm without compromising on gameplay quality.

For those who own the expansion Conan Exiles: Isle of Siptah, this upgrade will introduce a seamless integration between the Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah. Players will no longer need to choose one map to start their adventure; they can freely explore both regions in a unified experience. Multiplayer servers will now support both maps simultaneously, significantly expanding the playable area accessible to those with the Isle of Siptah content.

According to Joel Bylos, Chief Creative Officer at Funcom, “Conan has been at the heart of Funcom for nearly 20 years. This new Enhanced upgrade will continue to cement Conan Exiles’ legacy in video gaming.” He noted that while such upgrades are often monetized or sold as separate products, they chose to offer this as a gift to commemorate the anniversary and to express gratitude to the community for their continued support.

Inflexion Games’ CEO, Aaryn Flynn, expressed pride in collaborating with Funcom for the Unreal Engine 5 upgrade, stating, “Updating such a beloved game with new technology, materials, shaders, UI, and quality-of-life improvements will create a new foundation for adventures for players around the world in the coming decade.”

Since its initial release on May 8, 2018, Conan Exiles has attracted over 15 million players, inviting them to explore its rugged terrains based on the legendary works of Robert E. Howard. The enhanced version will be available for all users who own the Steam version of Conan Exiles at no extra cost.

While there are currently no plans to release this upgrade for consoles, the Epic Games Store, or the Windows PC Store, Funcom and Inflexion Games are considering future releases on these platforms.
