HyperStrong and CATL Forge Long-term Partnership with Huge Battery Cell Procurement Deal

Strategic Partnership between HyperStrong and CATL

On November 16, 2025, Beijing HyperStrong Technology Co., Ltd. and Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) took a significant step towards strengthening their partnership. They signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement that sets a new course for their relationship, particularly in the energy storage sector. This agreement outlines a commitment for HyperStrong to procure a minimum of 200 GWh of battery cells from CATL over the next three years, commencing on January 1, 2026. This procurement is intended to serve as a foundation for expanding HyperStrong's global energy storage initiatives.

The deal also establishes a long-term cooperation mechanism, allowing for annual reviews of cooperation targets for the following three-year periods until December 31, 2035. Each year, the companies will revisit and potentially revise their collective goals, reinforcing their commitment to collaboration through signed memorandums of understanding.

Expanding Technological Collaboration

HyperStrong and CATL are leveraging their unique strengths, which encompass battery technology, energy storage system integration, and global outreach. The partnership aims to explore fresh business models fuelling innovation and efficiency. These include the establishment of energy storage industry investment funds, creating an integrated management platform for project development, and considering collaborative procurement for components used in AC systems, which would enhance their operational coordination.

Such innovative steps could drastically improve their supply chain efficiencies — aligning resources in a manner that benefits both organizations while also meeting burgeoning global demand for energy storage solutions.

A Vision for the Future

This strategic partnership is pivotal for HyperStrong's overarching goal of building a diversified energy ecosystem. By working closely together, both entities anticipate reinforcing their competitive positions in the energy landscape. They seek to foster synergies within the industry, thereby promoting efficient resource integration and creating shared value.

Looking forward, HyperStrong and CATL express strong ambitions to tackle key challenges within the industry together. Their partnership is key to advancing technological innovations and upgrading the energy storage sector, which is essential for facilitating a successful global transition towards renewable energy sources.
