HiBy Unveils the RS2 II Portable Hi-Fi Player

In an exciting development for audiophiles, HiBy has officially launched the RS2 II, a compact portable Hi-Fi player utilizing cutting-edge DARWIN III audio architecture. This latest model is designed for those who seek flagship-level sound quality in a smaller and more convenient format. The RS2 II incorporates HiBy’s proprietary R2R technology, a fully symmetrical analog stage, HiByOS, and flexible connectivity options.

At the core of the RS2 II is HiBy's advanced DARWIN III architecture. This innovative system is powered by a newly developed FPGA digital engine equipped with over 35,000 logic units and 40 high-speed and high-performance DSP units. This robust processing platform enables customizable FIR filters, multiple DARWIN filters, harmonics control, NOS/OS switching, and native DSD processing, ensuring exceptional audio fidelity for users.

The digital-to-analog conversion is facilitated through a precise R2R resistor network. High-speed electronic switches manage the resistor network, converting digital signals into corresponding analog voltage levels. This process effectively minimizes high-frequency noise generated by digital modulation while providing a natural and transparent sound experience.

The analog stage features a four-stage OPA1612 signal chain. One OPA1612 handles low-pass filtering after the DAC stage, while another provides power gain following volume control. Two additional OPA1612 chips create a fully symmetrical voltage gain stage. For headphone output, four high-quality OPA1622 amplifiers ensure independent four-channel power amplification, enhancing dynamics, control, and compatibility with multi-driver earphones.

The RS2 II is also notably more compact than its predecessor. The standard version, made from an aluminum alloy, weighs a mere 156 grams and features a dark green finish with a houndstooth-patterned back. Compared to the original RS2, the display area has increased by 45%, and resolution has improved by 122%. The new 3.55-inch display boasts a resolution of 480 × 800, providing a significantly enhanced visual experience with slimmer bezels. Additionally, an upgraded dual-core X1600E platform boosts system responsiveness.

Running on HiBy's proprietary HiByOS, the RS2 II supports coaxial output, line-out, and USB-DAC functionalities. It also includes dual microSD card slots accommodating up to 4TB of expandable total storage, catering to the diverse needs of modern music enthusiasts.

The HiBy RS2 II Aluminum Alloy Edition is priced at $439 and available in standard serial production. A limited Brass Edition is expected to retail for $549, with a global production cap of just 500 units slated for October release.

With the RS2 II, HiBy reaffirms its commitment to delivering high-quality audio experiences in portable devices, merging advanced technology and aesthetic design seamlessly. Audiophiles seeking a premium listening experience in a portable form factor will surely find this new offering appealing.
