SeRo Systems Introduces Advanced Airport Surface Surveillance with A-SMGCS Integration

SeRo Systems Expands Airport Surface Surveillance Capabilities

On May 26, 2026, SeRo Systems, a leading company in air traffic surveillance and monitoring solutions, announced the launch of their latest product, the MLX1090, aimed at integrating advanced surface movement guidance and control systems (A-SMGCS) in airport operations. This new platform merges SeRo’s GRX receiver hardware with their SecureTrack technologies, including multi-lateration (MLAT) and ADS-B surveillance, to provide a seamless operational overview for airport traffic management.

The integration of these technologies is designed to enhance situational awareness, ensuring the safety of ground operations and improving overall efficiency at airports. The MLX1090 operates under the guidelines set by EUROCAE ED-117A and ED-129B, offering continuous monitoring and tracking of both aircraft and ground vehicles in active operational areas. By providing real-time safety alerts and situational awareness for airport controllers and operators, it forms a vital foundation for securing ground operations in a demanding regulatory environment.

According to Markus Fuchs, the CTO and CISO of SeRo Systems, the current landscape in aviation is seeing increasing pressure for airports to enhance security measures while managing infrastructure costs effectively. He stated, “Our MLX1090 represents a natural evolution in the airspace and ground monitoring technology that we have refined over the past decade. Through the integration of our GRX receivers with real-time analytical capabilities, we have developed a scalable and cost-effective solution that brings advanced surveillance capabilities to smaller airports.”

The MLX1090 is currently undergoing field tests at a regional airport in Germany, expanding SeRo's portfolio of technologies that have already gained traction among air navigation service providers, regulators, and aviation authorities across Europe and the United States. This system not only emphasizes ground surveillance but also incorporates spectrum monitoring and GNSS interference detection, addressing a broader range of operational requirements in the air traffic management landscape.

With certifications ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 27001:2022, SeRo Systems demonstrates a robust commitment to quality management and information security. For airport operators looking for comprehensive and reliable solutions in air traffic surveillance technology, the introduction of the MLX1090 creates an opportunity to significantly enhance operational safety and effectiveness.
