AdventHealth Zephyrhills Embarks on New Medical Office Building Amid Community Growth Surge

AdventHealth Zephyrhills Breaks Ground on New Facility

On August 29, 2025, AdventHealth commenced a significant expansion at its Zephyrhills campus, reflecting the growing healthcare needs of the Pasco County community. The new medical office building will span nearly 35,000 square feet and is designed to accommodate both new and employed physicians, improving the variety and quality of healthcare options available locally.

This groundbreaking ceremony not only marks a pivotal moment for AdventHealth but also symbolizes the organization's commitment to serving the community for 40 years. The building will host primary care as well as specialized services including cardiology, gastroenterology, general surgery, and urology, ensuring comprehensive patient care in a single location.

The decision to expand comes at a time when Pasco County is projected to witness a population growth of 40% by 2045, largely concentrated in the Southern and Central areas. Mike Murrill, the president and CEO of AdventHealth Zephyrhills, shared that the initiative is part of a meticulous strategy to plan for the future and accommodate the increasing healthcare demands of the community.

"As our community grows, we remain committed to helping our neighbors heal and feel whole, close to where we live, work, and play," Murrill stated during the ceremony, emphasizing the importance of providing accessible healthcare.

This new medical office will join a series of strategic investments by AdventHealth in the region. AdventHealth Wesley Chapel, for instance, is expected to open its expanded facilities soon, including the three-story North Wing and two-story South Courtyard Infill. This expansion will raise the hospital’s licensed bed capacity from 169 to 193, with plans for future growth.

Additionally, the newly opened AdventHealth Meadow Pointe Emergency Room, equipped with 12 patient beds and focused on pediatric needs, has already created over two dozen job opportunities. The community's rehabilitation requirements are also being met with the recent launch of AdventHealth Sports Med and Rehab Zephyrhills clinic, which opened its doors in May 2025.

In a continued effort to enhance cardiovascular care, AdventHealth Zephyrhills has recently unveiled a newly renovated Electrophysiology Lab, underlining their commitment to providing advanced medical technologies.

AdventHealth has teamed up with HuntonBrady Architects for the design and Robins & Morton for the construction of the new medical office building. Todd Watson, the Division Manager for Robins & Morton, expressed excitement during the groundbreaking, recognizing this project as an upbeat milestone in their ongoing collaboration with AdventHealth. He noted the positive impact that this new facility is expected to have on enhancing healthcare accessibility for the local community.

Construction is scheduled to be completed by the fall of 2026, at which point the community can look forward to increased healthcare services and enhanced benefits from this vital expansion. With a strong foundation of service, AdventHealth is ready to meet the challenges of a growing population and continue its legacy of quality medical care for the residents of Pasco County.
