Asagaya Picnic 2025: A Community Celebration of Fun

The Asagaya Picnic Committee, led by NQ Ten-go Co., Ltd., is thrilled to announce the Asagaya Picnic 2025 event scheduled for May 24-25, 2025. This festive occasion, rooted in the picturesque Asagaya district, invites residents and visitors alike to come together and enjoy a unique picnic experience centered around the JR Chuo Line Asagaya Station.

A Stroll Through Culture and Fun

This year marks the event's third installment, and for the first time, it will take place over two energizing days. Situated prominently in the South Exit Fountain Square of Asagaya Station, the main attraction is a delightful carousel, which will once again spin joyfully for visitors of all ages. Additionally, thanks to a generous sponsorship from Tamasa Co., Ltd. (known for their Butterfly brand of ping pong products), a mini table tennis area will be set up, allowing attendees to casually enjoy the sport right in the heart of the station square.


As participants engage in these activities, they will also find that the previously inactive fountain space will be transformed into a vibrant hub, featuring a specially constructed stage that resonates with the community’s creativity. By collaborating with the Suginami Ward for resident feedback, the event aims to harness local potential for innovative urban development.

Engaging Activities for All Ages

The Asagaya Picnic 2025 will also showcase various exciting projects:

• - Book Panels and Games: Attendees can engage with the Books in Town Project, which promotes reading through fun games like 'Used Book Fishing' and quizzes in collaboration with the Yae Corporation's Asagaya Store. A special display of books related to Shuntaro Tanikawa will celebrate local literature.
• - Upcycle Experimentation: Participants can get creative in the Upcycle Laboratory, crafting a future map of Asagaya using stamps and making personal ping pong rackets.
• - Teen-led Lemonade Stand: Students will take charge of a lemonade stand, practicing entrepreneurship with support from the Seibu Shinkin Bank's 2024 Local Future Grant.
• - PicniQuiz: Starting early on May 18, participants can wander the Asagaya area, answering quiz questions and exploring local spots.
• - Asagaya Lottery: Exciting prizes related to Asagaya will be up for grabs, adding more fun to the experience.

The committee behind this event seeks to create a vibrant community atmosphere not only during the two days of festivities but also in the lead-up to and following the event. They envision Asagaya becoming a cherished place to live and visit, where the community actively imagines and experiments with its future.

A Team Built on Community Spirit

The organizing committee consists mainly of passionate volunteers from their 30s to 40s who have strong ties to Asagaya. Notably, individuals who participated as attendees in past events are now playing integral roles in the current event’s execution, showcasing the growing sense of community ownership.
