Motto by Hilton's First Foray into Japan: Kyoto's Newest Hotel
Hilton’s lifestyle brand, Motto by Hilton, is poised to enter the Japanese market with its new project, Motto by Hilton Kyoto Shijo Karasuma, scheduled to open in 2029. This partnership between Heiwa Real Estate Co., Ltd., based in Chuo, Tokyo, and Hilton, headquartered in Virginia, USA, marks a significant milestone for both companies. The hotel will be strategically located just a two-minute walk from Shijo Station on the subway Karasuma Line and Karasuma Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line, making it an ideal base for both business travelers and tourists visiting Kyoto.
Kyoto, known as the heart of traditional Japanese culture, offers an array of attractions including the Nishiki Market, Gion, and the vibrant Shijo Kawaramachi area for shopping and dining. The hotel's location will not only provide easy access to these significant cultural sites but will also cater to the high traffic from the nearby Kyoto Station, reinforcing its appeal to both domestic and international guests.
What is Motto by Hilton?
Motto by Hilton is designed for travelers looking to immerse themselves in the local culture and dynamics of the city they visit. Each location embodies unique design elements reflecting the local character and energy. The hotels are equipped with vibrant dining options and social spaces that encourage interaction among guests and the local community. Customers can also enjoy flexible stay experiences, such as the Confirmed Connecting Rooms feature that allows guests to book adjacent rooms before arrival, making it perfect for families or groups traveling together.
Since the opening of ROKU KYOTO, LXR Hotels & Resorts in 2021, Hilton has significantly expanded its footprint in Kyoto, now with plans to introduce Motto by Hilton Kyoto Shijo Karasuma as the seventh Hilton property in the area. This development underscores Hilton’s strategic vision to enhance its presence in one of Japan's most culturally rich cities.
In addition to 108 guest rooms spanning ten stories, the hotel will also feature an all-day dining venue and a lounge with an open terrace, enabling guests to enjoy the unique Kyoto atmosphere.
