Bybit Celebrated by Korean National Police for Cybercrime Prevention Cooperation

Bybit Recognized for Contributions to Cybercrime Response

Bybit, recognized as the world's second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has recently received an accolade from the Korean National Police Agency (KNPA) for its impactful cooperation in combating cybercrime. This recognition was awarded at the 27th International Symposium on Cybercrime Response (ISCR 2026), which took place in Seoul from August 27 to 28. The event plays a pivotal role in collaborating with various sectors, including government, industry, and education, to enhance strategies related to cybersecurity and cybercrime response.

During the symposium, Bybit was the only cryptocurrency exchange to be honored with a Certificate of Appreciation, a testament to its effective partnership with governmental bodies in addressing the challenges of cybercrime. The award was presented by Yoo Jae-seong, the Acting Commissioner General of the KNPA, and accepted by Coco Heng, Bybit's Head of Law Enforcement. This milestone highlights Bybit’s consistent efforts to bridge the gap between digital asset exchanges and law enforcement, emphasizing the growing need for synergetic efforts to tackle sophisticated cyber threats.

Strengthening Collaborative Efforts

Bybit's security approach transcends the mere protection of its platform. The exchange collaborates extensively with law enforcement agencies, regulators, and blockchain intelligence firms to facilitate investigations, trace illicit financial flows, and provide actionable intelligence. With cybercriminal groups frequently operating across various blockchains and jurisdictions, this collaboration has become vital.

In her acceptance speech, Coco Heng noted, "Cybercrime does not respect borders, and neither should our collaborative responses to it. Our duty is not only to safeguard our users but also to support law enforcement in cases where digital assets are tied to criminal activities." The acknowledgment from the KNPA is a significant validation of these collaborative efforts.

The event’s theme, "Perfect Cube Three Dimensions for Shaping New Digital Order," underscored the thematic focus on enhancing standards and technology as integral pillars for fostering a secure digital environment. Bybit’s unique position as the sole cryptocurrency exchange recipient of this recognition reiterates the importance of robust partnerships in counteracting cybercrime effectively.

Proactive Cybersecurity Measures

Bybit’s commitment to cybersecurity was further evidenced in its recently published Risk and Security Report for the first half of 2026. This detailed a proactive security strategy that had successfully intercepted potential user losses exceeding $700 million by analyzing over 30,000 suspicious withdrawal requests and identifying $212 million linked to fraudulent activities. Furthermore, the exchange blacklisted over 10,000 malicious addresses during this period.

Throughout the first half of 2026, Bybit heightened monitoring activities, achieving coverage over 100% of business-relevant on-chain operations, which included listed token contracts and various ecosystem transactions. Remarkably, despite encountering ten security incidents involving listed token projects, the platform reported no resultant losses, underscoring the effectiveness of its security measures.

The report also highlighted advancements in artificial intelligence playing a crucial role in Bybit's security framework. During the same period, the exchange utilized AI-assisted analysis for over 100,000 security alerts, substantially accelerating the identification of high-severity vulnerabilities and streamlining security assessments.

A Vision for the Future

As the adoption of digital assets continues to surge, Bybit believes that a strong response to cybercrime necessitates enhanced cooperation between private platforms and public authorities. This recognition at ISCR 2026 is a crucial milestone in Bybit’s broader strategy to bolster its security infrastructure while partnering with law enforcement, regulatory bodies, and industry peers on a global scale.

Bybit emphasizes its goal to facilitate early detection of potential threats, expedite investigations, and complicate the execution of illicit activities within the digital-asset space. This commitment not only enhances the safety of users on the platform but also contributes significantly to a more secure and trustworthy ecosystem for all participants within the digital finance landscape.

In conclusion, Bybit's efforts and collaboration signify a progressive approach towards both fortifying their services and fostering trust among users in the rapidly evolving world of cryptocurrency. As the company continues its initiatives, it remains dedicated to shaping a future where cybercrime is effectively mitigated through unified efforts in intelligence sharing and technological advancements.
