Luca Mining Reveals High-Grade Gold Results from Catorce Zone at Tahuehueto Mine

New High-Grade Gold Discoveries at the Catorce Zone

Luca Mining Corp. has recently disclosed impressive new assay results from its ongoing exploration activities at the Tahuehueto gold-silver mine, located in the Durango region of Mexico. This marks significant progress at the Catorce Zone, a previously underexplored area that has just resumed drilling work since the last set of activities in 2008.

On September 8, 2026, Luca Mining announced that the initial surface drilling results demonstrate excellent potential for significant near-mine resource expansion. Notably, the first surface hole at the Catorce Zone has recorded an intersection of 9.9 meters grading 5.39 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold equivalent (AuEq), which includes a remarkable 1.0 meter averaging 27.56 g/t AuEq. This suggests a robust opportunity for exploration in this area, which is perceived to be a southern extension of the existing Creston Vein system.

Exploration Highlights

The results from the ongoing drill program targeting the Catorce Zone indicate high-grade mineralization. The highlights include:
  • - First surface hole (DDH26-RCE-01) intersected 9.9 m of 5.39 g/t AuEq (3.63 g/t Au, 70.14 g/t Ag, 0.02% Cu, 1.69% Pb, 5.63% Zn), with 1.0 m reaching an impressive 27.56 g/t AuEq (21.10 g/t Au, 58.50 g/t Ag).
  • - Additional high-grade results from the Creston Vein were also reported. For instance, one drillhole returned notable results of 6.2 m of 6.37 g/t AuEq, including 2.9 m of 11.83 g/t AuEq and 1.1 m of 20.60 g/t AuEq.

These initial findings reassert the geological model of Luca Mining and enhance the potential for expanding the existing mineralization footprint well beyond the current resource categories. The context of these results suggests ample opportunities for additional drilling as well.

Continued Drilling Efforts

The exploration program at the Tahuehueto mine has adopted a comprehensive drilling strategy, employing multiple diamond drill rigs to keep pace with the increasing interest in the site's mineralization potential. Currently, two contracted drill rigs are on-site, and a third one is en route. A Luca-owned underground rig is also operational, focused on defining mineralization aligned with near-term mine plans.

Paul D. Gray, Vice President of Exploration at Luca, emphasized the continued promise of the Tahuehueto site, stating, “The latest drilling results bolster our belief that the Tahuehueto operation has significant expansion potential beyond its current resource areas.” The confidence is reflected in how all 14 drillholes completed within the newly identified areas have intersected the Creston Vein, affirming important continuity at depth.

Future Plans

As drilling progresses, more high-grade assay results are anticipated, particularly from the Catorce Zone. Researching additional, under-explored vein systems could also yield exciting new discoveries. The existing data depicts a total of 11 kilometers of prospective vein structures in close proximity to previously identified breccia zones. As drilling continues, the focus remains on defining the extent of high-grade and economically viable mineralization.

The cumulative results from ongoing drilling and exploration at the Tahuehueto mine indicate that Luca Mining is on a promising path toward enhancing its resource base while tapping into previously overlooked geological potential in the region. Each step taken by the company reaffirms its commitment to unlocking the value embedded in one of Mexico's storied mining districts.

Conclusion

In summary, Luca Mining’s recent high-grade results, particularly from the Catorce Zone, underscore the significant exploration potential that exists within the Tahuehueto mining operation. Given its robust mineralization and expansion prospects, the site is set to attract more attention from investors and stakeholders eager to leverage future opportunities in the mining sector. As ongoing drilling reveals further insights, the strategic push by Luca Mining positions it well for sustained growth and development in the competitive landscape of resource extraction.
