Mektec Corporation's New Headquarters in Tokyo
On May 11, 2026, Mektec Corporation officially opened its new headquarters in the Onarimon Yusen Building located in Minato City, Tokyo. This strategic move is a part of the company’s ongoing efforts to consolidate operations and facilitate stronger inter-departmental collaboration.
Mektec, a subsidiary of NOK Corporation, has relocated its main functions from the old office in Ueno, Taito-ku, and integrated it with operations previously spread between the Ueno office and the Ushiku plant in Ibaraki Prefecture. By concentrating key operations, including strategic planning, sales, procurement, general affairs, human resources, and accounting, at this new venue, Mektec aims to enhance decision-making processes and foster smoother internal adjustments.
A Strategic Location for Group Collaboration
The strategic location of the new headquarters, close to NOK Corporation's main office, further enhances synergies within the NOK Group. This proximity supports easier interaction and sharing of expertise and information across various branches of the organization, contributing to overall group synergy and collaborative efforts.
Reflecting the NOK Group's Workplace Reform
As part of NOK Group's commitment to sustainable growth, Mektec’s new headquarters embodies the company’s vision for workplace reform. The NOK Group has established a set of _Workplace Guidelines_ aimed at creating environments that harness the capabilities of its personnel and promote well-being, efficient and creative work styles, as well as communication across units. This initiative has already seen successful implementations at other sites, including the Kanagawa and Anjo branches and the Fukushima operations.
The new headquarters applies these guidelines under the concept titled _Global Hub: Gather, Decide, Create_. This design facilitates an environment where employees from Mektec’s domestic and international bases, as well as NOK Group companies, can easily gather, interact, discuss, and make decisions. The inclusion of multipurpose spaces that can accommodate events and meetings for up to 50 individuals will enhance interdepartmental cooperation and establish a robust hub to support global business operations.
