Limited Edition Craft Sake Featuring Upcycled Hops from ASTRA FOOD PLAN

Introducing 'Koso Hana Kaze Gururiko 2026'

Astra Food Plan, a food-tech startup committed to turning food waste into deliciousness, has launched a limited edition craft sake called 'Koso Hana Kaze Gururiko 2026', created in collaboration with Inaito Agave, a craft sake brewery from Akita Prefecture. This innovative beverage, scheduled for release in April 2026, uniquely utilizes upcycled hops that have seen use in beer production, embodying a sustainable approach to alcohol production.

The Concept Behind Koso Hana Kaze

The idea behind 'Koso Hana Kaze' is to elevate traditional brewing methods by integrating unused ingredients into the process. The hops used in this craft sake come from the popular Yona Yona Ale produced by the renowned Nagano-based brewery, Yaho Brewing. With a blend of rice, koji, and fermented hops, this sake promises a refreshing flavor, characterized by a delightful acidity balanced with a hint of sweetness, and a subtle carbonation that offers a juicy taste experience. Expect to encounter a citrusy aroma reminiscent of grapefruit and lime, thanks to the unique hop infusion.

Brand Background: Inaito Agave

Founded in Akita in 2021, Inaito Agave is a rising contender in the craft sake scene, utilizing distinctive ingredients like fruits and hops to create new beverage genres. The brewery emphasizes using sake as a means for community improvement and revitalization, aiming to promote the local area through its products.
