Exciting New Exhibition AI ART meets Art Fair Now Accepting Submissions

Launch of 'AI ART meets Art Fair' Call for Submissions

Introduction to the Exhibition
Todoroki Co., Ltd., headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, has announced the initiation of its first open call exhibition, 'AI ART meets Art Fair', which focuses on artworks incorporating AI into their creative process. This exhibition is part of the contemporary art fair 'KOBE ART MARCHÉ 2026'.

Background of the Exhibition

In recent years, the rapid advancement of AI technology has significantly broadened the avenues for artistic expression. However, this transformation has also spurred ongoing debates around the artistic merit and evaluation standards of AI-created works worldwide. Rather than simply using AI as a technological demonstration, this exhibition emphasizes the importance of context, thought, and expression inherent in contemporary art pieces.
This aims to position AI-generated content within the framework of valuation and market dynamics in contemporary art.

Key Highlights

1. Eligibility Criteria
All genres of work involving AI in the creation process are invited to participate—from digital artworks using generative AI to pieces that translate AI outputs into physical materials. However, submissions must adhere to specific sizing restrictions (refer to detailed standards).

2. Exhibition of Selected Works
Entries selected for display will be exhibited at the 'KOBE ART MARCHÉ 2026', a rare hotel-based art fair in Japan. This venue will allow for direct interactions with collectors and galleries, presenting the chosen works in a leading market environment.

3. Rigorous Judging Process by Esteemed Professionals
A panel of distinguished judges from various fields will evaluate submissions from multiple perspectives, considering the philosophical underpinnings, contextual relevance, and necessity of expression as a work of art.

4. Open to All Creators
There are no restrictions concerning the age, profession, or affiliation of applicants, enabling all creators with fresh perspectives to apply for this opportunity.
