AIQ Secures Major AI Technology Deal with ADNOC
In a landmark announcement, AIQ, a company under Presight, has secured a monumental $340 million contract with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). This agreement is the culmination of a successful proof-of-concept phase and is set to revolutionize the operations of the energy giant through the deployment of ENERGYai and associated AI solutions. Over a three-year period, AIQ will implement their innovative technology across ADNOC’s upstream operations, focusing on enhancing optimization and efficiency.
The Significance of the Partnership
This unprecedented deal not only highlights AIQ's standing as a leading AI solutions provider but also reinforces ADNOC's ambitious vision to become the world’s most AI-enabled energy company. By investing in advanced AI technologies, ADNOC aims to elevate its operational capabilities and sustainability initiatives.
Musabbeh Al Kaabi, CEO of ADNOC Upstream, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "We look forward to working with AIQ to scale ENERGYai across the upstream business, consolidating our position as a responsible and reliable supplier of energy to global markets."
AIQ's cutting-edge ENERGYai integrates large language model (LLM) technology with agentic AI tailored for specific workflows in ADNOC’s upstream operations. This powerful combination is designed to significantly enhance efficiencies across various critical tasks, encompassing seismic analysis, geological modeling, and real-time process monitoring. The objective is to reduce the time needed for essential business processes from several months down to just a few days while also minimizing costs and environmental emissions.
How ENERGYai Works
The innovative ENERGYai framework utilizes advanced machine learning capabilities, allowing engineers to interact seamlessly with ADNOC’s proprietary data. This interaction aims to maximize productivity and foster new insights, ultimately resulting in improved decision-making processes across the board. Furthermore, it presents opportunities for cost-effectiveness and significant reductions in carbon emissions, aligning with global sustainability goals.
"This contract marks a defining moment for AIQ," said Magzhan Kenesbai, the Acting Managing Director of AIQ. "In partnership with ADNOC, we are proud to present a world-first agentic AI solution that can transform the energy industry. This achievement underscores our commitment to delivering innovative and impactful AI solutions that address both current challenges and future needs within the energy sector."
Technical Collaboration and Future Prospects
The development of ENERGYai was a collaborative effort involving experts from AIQ, ADNOC, G42, and Microsoft. The project integrates top-of-the-line technologies, including Azure cloud computing, agentic AI platforms, the Open Subsurface Data Universe (OSDU) framework, and OpenAI models. As Thomas Pramotedham, CEO of Presight stated, "Agentic AI is recognized as the future of AI development and integration, and through our collaboration here in the UAE, we are shaping tomorrow’s energy landscape with applied intelligence."
The first operational version of ENERGYai is expected to launch by mid-2025, featuring five fully functional AI agents focusing on subsurface operations. Following this initial deployment, plans are in place to expand its utilization across thousands of additional wells in ADNOC’s upstream assets, which include over 28 producing fields known for being among the world’s largest and least carbon-intensive.
AIQ is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of AI in the energy sector, driving performance and efficiency while aiding clients in achieving their sustainability targets. The company aims to be a key player in the UAE's vision to position itself as a global leader in AI by 2031. For more information about AIQ and its initiatives, visit
