Aquatics Sports Festival in Tokyo

The Tokyo Aquatics Center is set to host the Aquatics Sports Festival on October 13, 2025, in celebration of Sports Day. Organized by the Tokyo Sports Culture Foundation, this event aligns with the slogan “Creating Tokyo's Future through Sports” and aims to invite participants of all ages to enjoy a variety of sports.

Special Guests and Activities

This year’s festival will be graced by notable figures such as Shinri Shioura, an athlete from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Keiichi Kimura, a gold medalist from the Paralympics, and Riku Arai, a former water polo representative of Japan. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in diverse activities including:

• - Special swimming lessons with Olympic athletes
• - Competitive swimming relays
• - Fun aquatics games

Moreover, with the upcoming Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics, unique programs such as a diving start experience using a starting ramp and swimming lessons focusing on the visually impaired will also be offered. These special programs will provide valuable insights and hands-on experiences led by experts in the field.

A Variety of Fun Experiences

Apart from the swimming events, guests can partake in a range of activities without needing to change into swimwear. Highlights include:

• - A VR experience featuring para-sports
• - A treasure hunt rally that rewards participants with original goods
• - Running technique workshops inspired by the upcoming Tokyo 2025 World Athletic Championships

The festival welcomes a collaborative effort with the Koto City Tourism Association, which will have a PR booth at the venue. The Koto City mascot, Kotomi-chan, is expected to join the festivities, enhancing the event's appeal.

Alongside the Aquatics Sports Festival, the Tatsumi Health Sports Festival and Flatto Sukki Yoga will concurrently take place at the Tatsumi no Mori Seaside Park, offering additional options for visitors to engage in different sports at no cost.
