This event, which saw a remarkable 154 enthusiastic submissions from across the nation, focused on utilizing design to express the true value of Japanese agricultural products to global markets.

The Importance of Design in Agriculture

Japan is globally celebrated for its high-quality agricultural produce. However, to capture the hearts of overseas consumers, it’s imperative to adapt to local cultures and lifestyles through impactful design. The Agricultural Design Challenge 2025 was created to tackle this pressing issue, inviting creatives to explore and unlock the vast potential of agricultural design.

The selection process for the Metagri Award involved an impressive 206 votes during the preliminary round, culminating in a final vote by NFT members supporting the Metagri Institute, ensuring both transparency and community involvement in the selection process.

After a stringent review, the following three exceptional designs have been awarded the prestigious Metagri Award:

1. Matcha Banner Category - Metagri Award Winner

Creator: Misa
Design Description: This impactful design uses striking fonts to capture attention, showcasing the appeal and health benefits of matcha with an English description. The logo draws inspiration from Japan's national flag, incorporating elements that reflect Japanese culture.

2. Fruit Character Category - Metagri Award Winner

Creator: Mizuki
Design Description: This playful design uniquely combines the charm of a cat and a mandarin, offering a cheerful and approachable character that connects with a wider audience.

3. Sake Label Category - Metagri Award Winner

Design Description: Featuring calligraphic product names, this label elegantly signifies its identity as a Japanese sake. Accented with blue and adorned with an illustration of the helmet of a historic samurai, Tada Katsukuni Sakai, the design embodies simplicity and sophistication, using shiny paper for a polished finish.
