Introducing New Lithium-ion Battery System for Reliable DC48V Backup Solutions

Shinden Genko's New DC48V Lithium-ion Battery System

Shinden Genko, a leader in communication power solutions, is set to launch an innovative DC48V lithium-ion battery system designed specifically for power backup in communication infrastructure. This new system will be available starting July 2025, under the model numbers BS-480500, BS-481000, and BS-481500.

Key Features

The newly developed system features fifteen high-stability Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery modules, accommodating up to 1500Ah of capacity. This configuration is crucial for ensuring high reliability in communication equipment, characterized by long life, enhanced safety, and resistance to seismic activity.

Additionally, the system is equipped with advanced monitoring capabilities via SNMP, PC interface, and an intuitive LCD screen. There are also LED indicators and a voltage-free relay contact for alarm notifications. Each battery module includes built-in protection features to ensure safe and secure operations. Furthermore, this system complies with the IEC 62619:2022 safety standards for secondary lithium batteries, making it suitable for cubicle-type storage battery installations.

Growing Demand for Backup Solutions

In recent years, there has been a significant increase in data traffic, largely attributed to the rise of streaming services and rapid advancements in generative AI technology. Data traffic has skyrocketed from about 1.7Tbps in 2010 to an expected 38.9TB by November 2024. As digitalization within society accelerates, the need for resilient backup power systems for communication infrastructure is becoming increasingly vital.

Moreover, with the rise of Internet of Things (IoT) and sensor technologies, maintaining and managing social infrastructure has become more complex. As data center spaces become more compressed, there is a growing demand for compact lithium-ion battery systems that can deliver high energy storage performance in limited spaces.
