Sumikko Gurashi Aqua World Collaboration Event

This exciting collaboration event, celebrating its third consecutive year, will be held at Aqua World Oarai, located in Ibaraki Prefecture, from July 17 to September 15, 2025. Visitors will have the chance to enjoy various activities and engage with adorable Sumikko Gurashi characters dressed as sharks!

This Year’s Highlights

The Aqua World Oarai aquarium proudly boasts Japan's largest variety of shark species, and during this event, cute yet a bit wild Sumikko Gurashi characters will again take center stage throughout the aquarium, adding a unique twist to your visit.

Keyword Rally and Special Exhibitions

Explore exciting shark tanks and displays with a new keyword rally event. Participants will search for distinct Sumikko characters hidden around the aquarium. Additionally, there will be special exhibitions featuring creatures from tidal pools known for their surprising ways of adapting to their environments. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover these remarkable exhibits throughout various floors in the aquarium.

New Event: Hide & Seek with Sumikko

One of the highlights of this year's event is a new activity titled “Hide and Seek with Sumikko.” Visitors will embark on a search for Sumikko Gurashi character panels located in hidden corners across the aquarium's seven stories. Can you find them all? Everyone is invited to join this fun activity, but please note that admission to the aquarium is required.

Special Limited Edition Merchandise

Don’t miss out on the exclusive merchandise available at the souvenir shop titled Moramora. A variety of cute, limited-edition collaborative items will be sold, including:

Each visitor can purchase a maximum of five items per day, with trading magnets limited to ten per day. Please note that stock is limited.

Dining at the Mermaid Relax Café this year promises an array of adorable exclusive food options! Some highlighted items include:

• - Sumikko Gurashi Crepe Parfait: ¥900, topped with a random Macaron cookie.
• - Sumikko Gurashi Creamy Omurice: ¥1,600, featuring a delicious omelet and shrimp.
• - Sumikko Gurashi Peach Juice: ¥1,380, a refreshing drink with jelly.

Special Annual Passports

As part of the event, Aqua World Oarai will offer a limited-edition design annual passport, allowing unlimited access to the aquarium for one year from the date of purchase. This passport also comes with various benefits at the aquarium and surrounding areas! The passport will be available for purchase from July 17 to September 15, 2025.
