Yutong Bus T15E Demonstrates Outstanding Battery Performance in Finland

Yutong Bus T15E's Impressive Performance in Finland

Yutong Bus, a leading global manufacturer of commercial vehicles, has conducted rigorous tests of its flagship electric bus, the T15E, under extreme cold conditions in Finland. After earlier evaluations in Norway and Kazakhstan, this latest testing aimed to challenge the capabilities of the T15E in icy and snowy environments, with temperatures plummeting to as low as -20°C.

The T15E successfully navigated a challenging 250-kilometer stretch of winding, snow-covered roads from Oulu to Rovaniemi. The tests focused on critical aspects such as energy management, reliable performance, stability in sharp turns, and climbing capabilities. Media representatives Juho Akseli Käki and Tom Alexander Terjesen noted the bus's precise handling and luxurious ride quality, enhanced by advanced suspension seating and thoughtfully designed ambient interior lighting.

In a subsequent 609.8-kilometer journey from Oulu to Helsinki, the T15E demonstrated its endurance by completing the route in -20°C temperatures. Remarkably, it managed to reduce its battery charge from full to just 2% with an energy consumption rate of only 0.94 kWh/km, reaffirming its efficiency and reliability in severe winter conditions. Victor Wang, a product engineer at Yutong, emphasized the significance of these tests, asserting that the T15E has showcased its ability to maintain stable performance over maximum distance in extremely cold settings. The bus's range exceeding 600 kilometers meets the diverse requirements of premium long-distance transport services.

Built on top-tier technologies, the T15E’s proven performance thrives even in unfriendly climates. Its state-of-the-art battery boasts a high energy density of 630 kWh and is paired with an advanced liquid cooling and heating control system, optimizing efficiency even at low temperatures. The synchronous permanent magnet motor achieves peak efficiency levels up to 97.5%. Features like Yutong's patented efficient regenerative braking and low-temperature heat pump systems further enhance both energy savings and operational reliability.

The T15E also offers impressive fast-charging capabilities, fully charging in just over an hour, and is compatible with common charging stations throughout Europe, providing maximum convenience for operators. Furthermore, its advanced safety features - including an Electronic Braking System (EBS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) - bolster its reliable and effective long-distance transport capabilities.

This testing not only demonstrates the T15E's readiness for the toughest challenges but also signifies Yutong's commitment to advancing electric vehicle technology in the public transportation sector.

Conclusion

The rigorous assessments conducted in the unforgiving Finnish winter are a testament to the T15E's capabilities, underscoring its potential to transform long-distance travel in challenging climates. With exemplary power and efficiency, it stands out as a pioneering vehicle in sustainable transport.
