Cetera Financial Group Welcomes John Fitzgerald and Team to Enhance Client Services

Cetera Financial Group Welcomes John Fitzgerald and His Team

In a significant development for the financial advisory landscape, Cetera Financial Group has proudly welcomed John Fitzgerald and his esteemed team from Fitzgerald Financial Group. This new partnership comes as Fitzgerald brings approximately $185 million in assets under administration (AUA), further solidifying Cetera’s commitment to enhancing client services. Based in Vineland, New Jersey, Fitzgerald's practice has cultivated close relationships with around 400 households while managing over 1,300 accounts.

A Hands-On Approach to Financial Advising

Fitzgerald's financial journey began with Commonwealth Financial Network in December 2017, where he earned a reputation for exceptional client service, building his practice slowly and steadily through personal referrals, rather than acquiring existing books of business. His philosophy centers on a family-like team dynamic that prioritizes client engagement and satisfaction.

However, the recent acquisition of Commonwealth by LPL prompted Fitzgerald to reassess his broker-dealer affiliations. Rather than automatically transitioning to LPL, he embarked on a rigorous evaluation process to find an organization that aligned with his values and future vision. After extensive meetings with several broker-dealers and Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), he chose to make the leap to Cetera and Summit Financial Networks. Fitzgerald emphasized that the culture and service model at Summit closely mirrored what he had valued at Commonwealth.

During an insightful home office visit, Fitzgerald was impressed by the leadership team at Summit. He noted, "Meeting Summit's leadership face-to-face significantly influenced my decision. I recognized the same dedication to service that I cherished at Commonwealth. That familial sense within the team reassured me that I was making the right choice for our future."

Future Growth and Community Presence

As Fitzgerald aims to expand his practice, his strategy includes a dual approach: continuing to grow organically through referrals while also seeking inorganic growth strategies by acquiring additional books of business and collaborating with other advisors in need of succession planning.

In line with this vision, Fitzgerald’s team recently made a strategic investment by purchasing an office building in Mullica Hill, New Jersey. This move is designed to not only facilitate their expansion efforts but also maintain a strong operational presence in Vineland, where their client base has flourished.

Tom Halloran, Cetera’s Advisor Channel Leader, welcomes Fitzgerald and his team, stating, "John has crafted his practice through authentic, incremental client relationships—this hands-on and familial commitment to client satisfaction is precisely what Summit is designed to support. We are excited to assist John in advancing the next chapter of Fitzgerald Financial Group's evolution."
