In a significant leap for sustainable technology, Envision, a global frontrunner in green technologies, has inaugurated the Galaxy Campus in Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia. This cutting-edge facility is designed to support the next generation of artificial intelligence infrastructure while being powered entirely by renewable energy. With an impressive capacity of over 2 gigawatts (GW), the Galaxy Campus seeks to redefine how AI technologies can be harnessed on a large scale.

The Vision Behind Galaxy Campus



The Galaxy Campus is home to the world's largest single AI data center building, encompassing a staggering 120,000 square meters—equivalent to 20 standard football fields. This supercomputing facility aims to provide industry-leading token generation capabilities, utilizing directly connected renewable energy to power operations. Envision's proprietary AI Power System offers an innovative approach to integrate energy management with AI needs.

Once fully operational, the campus is anticipated to deliver a staggering computational power of one million PFLOPS (petaflops) and accommodate up to one million AI accelerators. These figures illustrate a monumental step in computing density for AI infrastructure, significantly advancing the capabilities of current systems.

Ricky Zheng, CEO of Envision's AI Data Center (AIDC), remarked, "Supporting a million accelerators necessitates a uniquely designed AI power supply system integrating renewable energy generation, dedicated transmission infrastructure, and large-scale energy storage to provide stable and cost-effective green power." This innovation allows the facility to deliver up to ten times the computing performance per square meter compared to conventional data centers.

In addition to energy provision, the Envision Galaxy Campus meets another crucial requirement: large-scale low-latency connectivity. Ulanqab's strategic location as a significant digital infrastructure hub facilitates the necessary network performance required for AI clusters housing hundreds of thousands of accelerators. The region's abundant wind and solar resources further enhance the campus's capability to operate sustainably.

Combining dedicated renewable energy facilities, robust transmission infrastructure, and AI-optimized energy management, Envision introduces a transformative model for gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure powered entirely by clean energy. Zheng emphasized, "The next challenge for AI lies in infrastructure. As AI models grow larger and more computationally demanding, the limiting factors increasingly become the availability of electricity, network performance, and energy efficiency. The Envision Galaxy Campus integrates energy, network, and physical infrastructure in unparalleled ways. This allows hyperscalers, tech companies, and AI innovators to provide and scale the next generation of AI workloads efficiently."

A Milestone Initiative



The Galaxy Campus is the cornerstone of Envision's global "Mission-Gobi" initiative, announced at the VivaTech conference in Paris in June 2026. The goal of this ambitious initiative is to build 5 GW of green AI computing capacity in desert and arid regions worldwide by 2030.
