Comprehensive Process Technology Seminar for Ceramic Laminate Components and Multilayer Boards

Comprehensive Process Technology Seminar for Ceramic Laminate Components and Multilayer Boards

The IR Institute for Technical Education is hosting a public seminar aimed at providing practical technical knowledge for the mass production of ceramic laminate components and multilayer boards. This event will cover the entire scope of process technologies required for product development, from raw material preparation to evaluation and patent application strategies.

Ceramic laminate components and multilayer boards are crucial functional parts and substrates used in various electronic devices, made up of different ceramic materials along with internal electrodes and wiring. Despite variations in materials and structures, there are many common elements in their manufacturing methods and equipment. Establishing common technologies is essential, especially when transitioning from development and prototyping to mass production.

Detailed Course Content

The seminar will methodically explain the comprehensive process technology for ceramic laminate components and multilayer boards, covering the stages from pre-sheet formation processes to sheet formation, via hole formation, internal wiring printing, lamination, pressing, cutting, firing, and terminal electrode formation. Key aspects of clean environments necessary for electronic component manufacturing will also be explored, alongside evaluation techniques such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), electron probe microanalysis (EPMA), micro-focus X-ray imaging, and ultrasonic testing methods. Furthermore, examples of patent applications related to process development will be discussed for the purpose of protecting company technology and restraining competitors.
