This event, titled Digital Nomads Japan Meetup ∞ — Digital Nomad Day Special Edition, is co-organized by ELENTO LLC, based in Shizuoka Prefecture, and Linnas Design Co., Ltd., from Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, with support from the Japan Digital Nomads Association (JDNA).

The Vision Behind the Event

August 8, designated as Digital Nomad Day by JDNA, is a date symbolizing limitless possibilities—a perfect representation of the digital nomad lifestyle. The numeral '8' resembles the infinity symbol, aligning with the dreams and aspirations of those living a nomadic life. The U.S. publication Rootless Living Magazine also recognizes this day, celebrating digital nomadism globally.

In response to growing government efforts to attract foreign investment and talent via initiatives like the new Digital Nomad Visa expected to roll out in March 2024, this event aims to bridge the gap between local regions wishing to invite these modern travelers and the nomads eager for new experiences.

Throughout the day, attendees will engage in various programs designed to encourage face-to-face connections and skill sharing. The agenda includes:

• - Morning Coffee Chat: Start the day with informal conversations over coffee. This session sets the tone for networking and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all participants.

• - Local Pitch Presentations: Different regions will present their uniqueness through short pitches, directly communicating their appeals to an audience of global nomads. Cities like Shimoda and Kanazawa will stand out, showcasing what makes their locales special.
• - Evening Meetup: The day culminates in a lively networking event where local players and nomads converge, allowing for dynamic conversations and collaborations.
