High Res Corporation's Strategic Funding Initiative
High Res Corp, based in Saga Prefecture and Tokyo, has successfully raised funds through a third-party allocation with Toyota Tsusho Corporation as the investing partner. This funding initiative is aimed at expanding the company's distribution channels domestically while actively working on enhancing its reach in overseas markets, particularly in Asia.
Purpose of the Fundraising
The main goal of this funding is to accelerate the development of data centers equipped with supercomputer-level GPU computing power. The demand for high-performance data processing is rapidly increasing, driven by the rising popularity of generative AI, material informatics (MI), and medical imaging processing. The need for data centers equipped with high GPU computational power is rapidly growing, not only due to domestic demand but also significantly in overseas markets, especially in Asia. Recognizing this burgeoning demand, High Res has decided to form a capital and operational partnership with Toyota Tsusho to effectively capture this growing market.
Comments from the CEO of Toyota Tsusho
Eiichi Matsuzaki, CEO of the Digital Solutions Division at Toyota Tsusho, stated, "We have decided to invest in High Res to deepen our collaboration with the company that operates the GPU cloud service 'GPUSOROBAN.' The rapid increase in demand for high-performance GPU data centers due to the rise of generative AI has led us to continue strengthening our partnership, which has been built through previous collaborative agreements. This investment will enable us to enhance the integration of technology and customer bases, creating synergies that support the growth of generative AI and LLM (large language model) development both domestically and internationally."
High Res Corporation's Vision
Kiyoshi Shikura, the CEO of High Res, expressed gratitude towards Toyota Tsusho for their support and alignment with the company's vision of "creating a new industrial landscape through computational power and building next-generation social infrastructure." He noted that the backing from Toyota Tsusho is invaluable and serves as a significant reinforcement to their endeavors. High Res aims to answer the expectations of its shareholders by continuing to challenge itself resolutely to position Japan as a central node for computational centers in Asia and globally.
