OLX Group Welcomes Andrew Garrihy as Chief Marketing Officer
In a significant move for the online classifieds sector, OLX Group has appointed Andrew Garrihy as its new Chief Marketing Officer, effective July 1, 2026. Known for its robust presence with nearly 60 million listings daily across seven markets, OLX aims to further amplify its marketing strategies under Garrihy's leadership. He will join the Executive Team and report directly to CEO Christian Gisy.
Garrihy's primary responsibility will be to advance OLX's marketing strategy, enhancing demand generation, and ensuring both users and professional clients recognize the full value of OLX's global marketplaces. A crucial focus of his role will be to deeply integrate artificial intelligence into all marketing operations. This shift represents OLX’s commitment to not just modernizing but revolutionizing how they engage with their audience.
With a wealth of international marketing experience spanning over 170 countries, Garrihy has previously held notable positions, including his recent stint as the Marketing Director for OLX Autos from 2022 to 2023. His journey at OLX was preceded by an impressive career at recognized tech giants such as Huawei, Qualcomm, Samsung, and Vodafone, where he led global teams to strengthen and transform brand strategies across EMEA, Asia, and Latin America.
Recognized for his comprehensive marketing knowledge and expertise, Garrihy combines both strategic and technical skills that are critical for modern marketing. His practical experience in developing AI agents and digital products places him in a unique position to advocate for deep AI integration within OLX's marketing departments. This appointment follows a period of impressive performance for OLX, marked by a global revenue increase of 28% year-on-year, reaching an impressive $992 million in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026. The company continues to innovate, having invested over $200 million in AI across all platforms since 2018.
CEO Christian Gisy commented on Garrihy’s appointment by stating, “A core pillar of OLX’s next growth phase is to continue leveraging AI to provide even greater value to our clients' businesses and our users. Garrihy’s vision of making AI central to effective marketing, coupled with his extensive international experience, makes him the perfect leader for this new chapter.”
In response, Garrihy expressed his excitement about rejoining OLX, highlighting the firm’s clear vision, strong leadership, and exceptional talent. He emphasized the unprecedented investment in AI within the classifieds sector as a pivotal element for innovation. “OLX is genuinely at an exciting moment of growth,” he remarked, “The AI revolution will change marketing fundamentally, not just superficially. Winners will combine deep marketing expertise with AI's capabilities, reconstructing marketing around the possibilities that AI offers today.”
