Mom's Meals Enhances Efforts to Combat Nutrition Insecurity

In a significant move to tackle one of the pressing issues in the United States, Mom's Meals® has announced an expansive initiative aimed at addressing nutrition insecurity. As a leading provider in the food as medicine sector, Mom's Meals is not only fulfilling its core mission but also stepping beyond by implementing meaningful corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategies.

During the first half of 2025, Mom's Meals has made remarkable strides in its Hunger Challenge initiative, donating over 23,000 medically tailored meals to those in need. The company has also distributed nearly 2,000 shelf-stable meals and contributed an impressive sum of over $50,000 in donated ingredients. These efforts are aimed at aiding individuals who often struggle to access nutritionally adequate meals tailored to their health requirements.

Chris Choi, CEO of Mom's Meals, highlighted the gravity of the problem, stating, "Nutrition insecurity is a challenge affecting millions of people across the country. Getting the right nutrition is essential to good health, but it's not always easy for people to access meals that meet their individual needs." The company's philosophy revolves around the belief that food constitutes care, hence they are dedicated to ensuring their nutrition solutions reach those who might otherwise go without.

In collaboration with healthcare and community organizations, Mom's Meals is empowering individuals to lead healthier lives through delicious and nutritious meal options, expert guidance, and supportive care. The CSR initiatives are framed around three key areas:
1. Ensuring Equitable Access to Nutrition: Mom's Meals creates and delivers millions of medically tailored meals every year to individuals managing chronic conditions, recovering from illnesses, or striving to maintain their independence. The annual Hunger Challenge, part of this initiative, focuses on providing meals to individuals who do not qualify for assistance under existing programs. Since its inception in 2020, the Hunger Challenge has led to nearly 57,000 meals donated.
2. Supporting Communities in Need: In times of emergencies and natural disasters, Mom's Meals has consistently delivered shelf-stable meals to bridge nutritional gaps. In 2025 alone, they have contributed over 1,968 shelf-stable meals, raising their total to 133,103 since 2019. Additionally, nearly $51,000 in ingredients has been contributed to local food banks, amassing a total of over $293,000 donated since 2019.
3. Engaging Employees to Live the Mission: Emphasizing a culture rooted in care, Mom's Meals continues to engage its employees in meaningful volunteer opportunities. Over the years, employees have contributed by packing 85,000 meals for Meals from the Heartland and donating significant amounts to other charitable organizations such as the American Red Cross and youth health programs.

Choi stated, "Our team is made up of people who believe deeply in what we do. Whether they are delivering meals, answering calls, or volunteering, they demonstrate what it means to bring food as medicine to life through trusted service and compassion."

Looking into the future, Mom's Meals is set to expand its impact further through strategic partnerships with healthcare and community entities, implementing scalable evidence-based interventions, and investing in programs designed to alleviate the burden of nutrition insecurity. Their ongoing dedication aims to deliver essential outcomes across various demographics, including Medicaid, Medicare, and self-pay populations.
