Allegion Unveils Cutting-Edge Enhancements for LCN Senior Swing Series
Allegion US, a notable leader in security solutions, has officially launched a groundbreaking series of enhancements for its LCN 2800IQ and 9500IQ Senior Swing series operators. The highlight of this release is the patent-pending self-adjusting technology named AdaptivIQ™.
Designed to operate efficiently throughout the year, the LCN Senior Swing is built with durability in mind and is ideal for high-traffic environments such as healthcare facilities and office buildings. Featuring the innovative Smart Power Boost technology, this auto operator can adjust automatically to external factors like wind pressure and seasonal changes, ensuring smooth performance with minimal maintenance.
Jason Fodstad, the project's lead engineering manager, emphasized how the combination of AdaptivIQ and Smart Power Boost makes the LCN Senior Swing a standout option in the market. "Real-time adjustments represent a significant advancement for door systems that face varying environmental pressures. This technology allows the operator to adjust to external forces, thus reducing the risk of slamming doors," he stated. Instead of working simply in an on/off mode like many of its competitors, this system intelligently adapts its functionality as needed.
The new features not only benefit end-users but also simplify installation for technicians. The installation process has been streamlined to accommodate novice installers thanks to new hook-and-cleat hardware, which simplifies the safe handling of the motor gearbox and control box during setup. Moreover, each control box is fully equipped with customizable user settings, an intuitive LCD screen, and capabilities for self-calibration and real-time diagnostic checks.
Emily Zentz, the product manager for LCN Automatic Operators, shared insights into the enhancements. "The aim of advancing the LCN Senior Swing wasn’t just about controlling the door; we sought to far exceed our customer's expectations in the market. We now provide a product that adapts to any specified setting at a location, guaranteeing reliability throughout the year," Zentz asserted.
Existing customers using the Senior Swing models can also benefit from this latest technological advancement, as Allegion has made upgrade kits available to retrofit previous models with the new gearbox and control box functionalities.
Those interested can see the AdaptivIQ, Smart Power Boost, and the other enhancements of the LCN Senior Swing in action at ISC East, taking place from November 18-20 at the Javits Center in New York City. For more detailed information about the LCN Senior Swing and its features, visit
