Endeavor Health Supports Community Initiatives

Endeavor Health, the third largest health system in Illinois, has recently made headlines with its significant investment of $8.8 million aimed at uplifting local communities. This funding is directed towards 44 different organizations in the greater Chicago area, showcasing Endeavor's commitment to addressing pressing social determinants of health. The Community Investment Fund (CIF), now in its fourth year, continues to play a pivotal role in fostering partnerships between Endeavor Health and various community organizations dedicated to improving health outcomes.

This year’s emphasis is particularly on behavioral health, food and housing insecurity, and overall access to health care services. By building on the successes of previous years, the CIF has now distributed over $30 million since its inception, positively impacting more than 500,000 lives and creating over 440 jobs in the community.

Among this year’s new partnerships is Search, Inc. in Mount Prospect, aimed at establishing a certified Behavioral Health Clinic for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. PADS Lake County in Highland Park is also set to rehabilitate a vacant building to improve access for those facing housing crises.

The Institute for Therapy through the Arts in Evanston is set to expand its creative arts therapy offerings by launching a Medicaid-certified Behavioral Health Clinic, aimed specifically at low-income residents. Meanwhile, the Conservation Foundation will invest in necessary equipment to boost crop yields and reduce production costs, ensuring a fresh supply of produce to local food pantries.

Additionally, the Northwest Center Against Sexual Assault in Cook County will renovate its facilities, enhancing trauma-informed care services and increasing support capacities for vulnerable individuals. In Northfield, the Northfield Township Food Pantry will enhance accessibility features and storage options at its new location to better serve its clientele. Similarly, Faith Feeds Food Pantry in Palatine plans to add refrigeration units to meet an increasing demand for fresh food.
