FranklinWH's Plans for European Expansion
FranklinWH Energy Storage Inc. is gearing up to make a significant entry into the European residential energy storage market, with plans to launch in 2027. This initiative was detailed at the Intersolar Europe 2026 conference, where the company presented its innovative energy storage systems aimed at addressing the growing demand from both utility companies and homeowners amid rising electricity costs.
The Need for Energy Storage
The ongoing electrification of transport and home heating, coupled with the increasing adoption of renewable energy sources, is driving a surge in the demand for energy storage across Europe. Utility companies are broadening their distributed energy resource programs to effectively manage peak demand and enhance grid reliability. Homeowners are actively seeking ways to reduce their energy costs and achieve a more controllable setup for their electricity consumption.
FranklinWH’s Innovative System
FranklinWH offers an integrated energy storage solution that combines battery storage, solar power management, electric vehicle charging, and energy management into one streamlined residential platform. With capacities ranging from 15 to 225 kilowatt-hours per smart controller (aGate), the system supports various functionalities including backup power, solar self-consumption, and energy cost management. It utilizes Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) technology, designed for easy installation, and features an energy management software that optimizes both the charging and discharging cycles based on household consumption, electricity prices, and weather conditions.
Experience and Global Reach
The company enters the European market backed by experience from over 25 virtual power plant programs actively managed by utility companies in the United States. Customers participating in these programs receive compensation whenever they draw energy stored in their batteries back to the grid during peak demands. FranklinWH boasts a global network of more than 4,000 authorized installers, proficient in implementing residential storage systems, providing training, and ensuring customer support. This expansive installer network will play a crucial role in facilitating FranklinWH’s European market entry.
Vincent Ambrose, the Commercial Director of FranklinWH, remarked, “European homeowners are looking for lower energy bills while utility companies are in search of flexible and reliable resources. These challenges are two sides of the same coin. Our systems are already in operation across virtual power plants in the United States, and we have developed our platform based on the insights gained from that experience. FranklinWH was founded on a simple premise: homeowners should be able to generate, store, manage, and use energy through an integrated platform rather than a collection of disconnected devices.”
Building Partnerships in Europe
At Intersolar Europe, FranklinWH is actively engaging with utility companies, distributors, installers, and energy aggregators, aiming to solidify its network of European partners ahead of the 2027 launch. Further details regarding distribution agreements, product availability, and additional specifications will be announced as the company prepares to establish its foothold in the European market.
FranklinWH will showcase its products at Hall C3, Stand 130, at Intersolar Europe 2026, which takes place from June 23 to 25 at Messe München in Munich.
