IGEL Appoints James Millington as New Regional Healthcare CTO for EMEA
In a significant move to strengthen its leadership in the healthcare sector, IGEL has appointed James Millington as its Field CTO for Healthcare in the EMEA region. This strategic appointment is indicative of IGEL's continued commitment to enhancing customer and partner support across the region, especially within the healthcare landscape, which is witnessing an increased need for modern endpoint solutions.
Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Germany, IGEL is a global software company recognized for its Adaptive Secure Endpoint Platform™, designed for contemporary digital workplaces. Millington, who has a robust pedigree in healthcare technology, brings nearly three years of experience from his prior role leading product marketing at IGEL. His expertise includes previous leadership positions at notable companies such as Armis, VMware, Imprivata, and Citrix, solidifying his capability to understand and address the evolving needs of healthcare providers.
In his new role, Millington will engage closely with healthcare clients, local teams, and partners to facilitate the deployment of IGEL’s immutable endpoint platform within clinical environments and healthcare settings. He is positioned to complement the efforts of Jason Mafera, the existing Client CTO for Healthcare in North America, thereby establishing a dual leadership approach for IGEL's healthcare strategy across both sides of the Atlantic.
Matthias Haas, IGEL’s Managing Director and CTO, remarked that healthcare organizations in the EMEA region are increasingly seeking modern, resilient, and secure endpoint strategies that enhance patient care while minimizing operational risks. Millington’s appointment underscores IGEL's dedication to supporting healthcare entities through the provision of innovative solutions tailored to meet the sector's demands.
"James brings vital industry experience, strategic insight, and customer focus necessary to drive organizations through this transformation. His leadership will be pivotal as we continue to expand our investments in healthcare and assist organizations across the EMEA region in creating secure and resilient digital workplaces," said Haas.
As healthcare enters a pivotal phase of innovation in the EMEA region, providers are tasked with finding new ways to reduce operational costs, improve quality care, and support digital and virtual care models. All of this must be done while safeguarding clinical environments from increasingly sophisticated cybersecurity threats.
Millington noted, "IGEL plays a unique role in this transformation, allowing healthcare institutions to establish a robust, secure endpoint foundation that aids in protecting access to critical systems while enhancing resilience and simplifying operations. I am excited about the opportunity to help our healthcare clients and partners in EMEA adopt this approach to modern healthcare realities."
The focus of Millington's new role will be on deepening IGEL's partner ecosystem within the EMEA region, helping healthcare organizations leverage broader strategies for secure access and resilience through IGEL.
