Panasonic Factory Solutions Expands in Eastern Europe

Panasonic Factory Solutions is making significant strides in enhancing its operations across Central and Eastern Europe with the establishment of a new technical center in Budapest, Hungary. This strategic investment focuses on centralizing customer support activities, technical engineering, service, and development, thereby solidifying Panasonic’s commitment to its customers in the electronics sector.

An Innovative Technical Hub

The freshly opened technical center features a spacious 860 square meters of manufacturing space and is equipped with a cutting-edge demonstration line showcasing Panasonic's latest Surface Mount Technology (SMT). This includes innovative systems such as the NPM G series and the advanced Automated Supply Feed (ASF) technology for material replenishment. Furthermore, the integration of predictive maintenance capabilities through the APC-5M AI software illustrates Panasonic's dedication to advancing technological excellence.

One of the center's key offerings is its four fully equipped training and demonstration rooms, which significantly extend Panasonic's training capabilities for its customers. This facility will enable the company to provide extensive workshops, hands-on training, and product demonstrations that align with unique manufacturing demands from various clients.

Supporting the Electronics Manufacturing Community

Jérôme Clouet, Senior Product Manager at Panasonic Connect Europe GmbH, emphasized the necessity of this new venue. He stated, “As demand for our training programs, demonstrations, and technical support has continued to rise, it became evident that our previous technical center could no longer accommodate the needs of our customers and teams.” The Budapest center addresses these needs, offering a realistic environment where customers can assess complete manufacturing solutions tailored to their specific production requirements.

Besides serving as a demonstration site, the Budapest technical center will also function as a hub for operational and maintenance programs, enhancing Panasonic's lifecycle support capabilities across its product range. This includes previously launched services such as the refurbishment of pick-and-place heads and feeders, which were established in Hungary in 2022.

A Strategic Location for Growth

Budapest was selected for this new center due to two main factors. Firstly, it resides within one of Europe's fastest-growing electronic manufacturing regions, adjacent to emerging industrial hotspots in the Czech Republic and Romania. Secondly, Budapest has an established reputation as a center of engineering excellence, facilitating access to a tech-savvy talent pool.

Clouet remarked, “Central and Eastern Europe is one of the most dynamic regions for electronic manufacturing, particularly within the automotive and industrial sectors, as well as in server board production for AI technology.” This move not only underscores Panasonic's strategic focus but also positions the company to better support its customers in the region effectively.
