Silfab Solar Strengthens Leadership with New Chief Legal Officer Greg Brabec

Silfab Solar Names Greg Brabec as Chief Legal Officer

Silfab Solar, a frontrunner in North America's photovoltaic (PV) module and cell manufacturing industry, has added Greg Brabec to its executive team as Chief Legal Officer. This strategic appointment comes at a pivotal moment as Silfab aims to boost its capabilities in navigating the complex legal and regulatory landscapes surrounding renewable energy.

Greg Brabec brings over 15 years of legal expertise to Silfab, along with a decade of experience in renewable energy manufacturing supply chains. His knowledge spans various critical areas, ensuring that Silfab is well equipped to tackle legislative affairs and regulatory compliance as the company pursues its ambitious plan to reshore solar manufacturing back to U.S. soil.

According to Paolo Maccario, President and CEO of Silfab, "Greg's extensive legal background, profound industry insight, and proven track record in negotiating across the entire solar value chain are invaluable assets. His expertise will play a crucial role in guiding our efforts to bolster the clean energy supply chain, particularly as we solidify our commitment to producing American-made solar cells and panels." Brabec's appointment is seen as a significant step in reinforcing Silfab’s position as a leader in the domestic solar market.

Before joining Silfab, Brabec held senior roles in legal and government affairs at Wacker North America. There, he was instrumental in advocating for policies that promote domestic solar and semiconductor manufacturing while focusing on enhancing supply chain resilience and supporting major clean energy legislation. As a passionate advocate for solar energy, Brabec expressed enthusiasm about his new role: "I am excited to be part of this innovative company in my home state of South Carolina. Having spent over a decade across the solar manufacturing supply chain and advocating for domestic solar, I look forward to joining America's leading module team to navigate the policies shaping the U.S. energy future."

Brabec's diverse background includes comprehensive knowledge of the entire solar production process—covering everything from silicon metal, polysilicon, and ingot to wafer, cell, and module manufacturing. This broad skill set positions him as a key player in representing the solar industry in various engagements and policy discussions with federal administrations, including those of Trump and Biden. Moreover, he has served as Chair of the Clean Energy Supply Chains Subcommittee on the Department of Commerce's Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee.

His credentials include a Juris Doctorate and an MBA from Temple University, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of South Carolina Honors College. Additionally, Brabec's educational journey started at Fort Mill High School, affirming his deep-rooted ties to the local community.

Silfab Solar, recognized for its dedication to designing, developing, and manufacturing high-efficiency PV modules and cells, leverages over 40 years of industry expertise.
