The second stage kicks off with the Makinohara Cup 2026, set to take place on June 6-7 in Makinohara City, Shizuoka Prefecture. This event marks the first official match of frescoball, a vibrant beach sport that originated in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, back in 1945.

The JFBA was established last year in conjunction with the 130th anniversary of Japan-Brazil diplomatic relations and the 80th anniversary of the sport's inception.
