SLOVAKIA TRAVEL Reestablishes Permanent Representation in Israel to Boost Tourism
SLOVAKIA TRAVEL Renewed Representation in Israel
SLOVAKIA TRAVEL, the official body dedicated to promoting tourism in Slovakia, has announced the reestablishment of its permanent representation in Israel. This move follows a hiatus and aims to boost Slovakia’s visibility as a premier holiday destination.
In May, Gabriela Madrová, the head of the foreign representation for SLOVAKIA TRAVEL, began operations directly from the Slovak Embassy in Tel Aviv. This initiative is particularly significant as Israel is one of the key source markets for tourists visiting Slovakia, with a noticeable number of Israeli travelers seeking leisure and therapeutic experiences in the country.
According to Matej Fekete, Director General of SLOVAKIA TRAVEL, this renewed focus and active presence will enhance inbound tourism. He emphasized that Slovakia is presented as a safe destination vibrant with options for both active and passive relaxation. He highlighted the nation's pristine landscapes, enriched by almost 2,000 thermal and mineral springs that draw many Israeli visitors eager for wellness and relaxation. Notably, the Slovak spas stand out, offering rest and recuperation in waters renowned for their healing properties.
In addition to wellness tourism, Slovakia offers a myriad of attractions, including UNESCO World Heritage sites, historical castles, charming manor houses, and stunning cave systems, effectively catering to diverse tourist interests. Gabriela Madrová reinforced the significance of their representation, noting that the international travel guide LONELY PLANET has listed Slovakia among the TOP 10 destinations to visit in 2025, which undeniably enhances the country's allure as a travel hotspot.
Recently, SLOVAKIA TRAVEL showcased its diverse tourism offerings at IMTM 2025, the largest tourism exhibition in the Mediterranean, held in Tel Aviv. This event facilitated connections with Israeli tour operators, travel agencies, and guides, sparking keen interest in collaboration with Slovak tourism partners. Madrová remarked on the positive reception of Slovakia’s comprehensive tourism portfolio and the substantial interest from attendees to explore potential partnerships.
An additional support system for increasing tourist traffic from Israel to Slovakia is the introduction of direct flights. Direct services are set to commence to both Bratislava and Piešťany by the end of May, enhancing accessibility for Israeli travelers eager to experience the rich offerings of Slovakia.
In summary, the reestablishment of SLOVAKIA TRAVEL's permanent representation in Israel is more than just a return; it’s a strategic move aimed at unlocking new tourism potential and fostering bilateral cultural exchange. With an emphasis on wellness, heritage, and collaboration, the organization is poised to present Slovakia as an irresistible travel choice in the coming years.
As SLOVAKIA TRAVEL embarks on this renewed journey, it brings with it a promise of experiences that blend nature, culture, and well-being, inviting travelers from Israel and beyond to discover the unique charms of Slovakia.
