High School CEO Elevates English Presentation Skills with FIP Talks in Tochigi

In an impressive display of entrepreneurship, Ryosuke Nakata, a high school senior and CEO of Artivation, has introduced an innovative social networking service—FIP Talks. This platform allows youth from around the globe to share English presentation videos that last between 3 and 5 minutes. On September 12 and 19, FIP Talks conducted experiential classes at Hoshinomiya Junior and Senior High School in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture, where 33 second-year high school students participated in a hands-on learning experience.

FIP Talks Experience Summary

The program comprised two days of classes, totaling four hours, where students used interactive AI tools to craft, record, and share their English presentations. Following their presentations, they also engaged in peer review by watching and commenting on each other's videos. In total, the students made 13 presentations during the classes, with plans for them to continue sharing their work in the future.

In terms of application feedback, students rated the overall experience with a score of 6.13 out of 10, highlighting various aspects like the ease of access and usability of the app. While most students found the tool beneficial, they pointed out areas needing improvement, particularly in ease of use when creating and submitting presentations.

Teachers' Perspectives

Feedback from teachers celebrated the students’ enthusiasm for the tasks. Some students faced anxiety about posting their videos publicly but ended up enjoying the creative process. This effort not only enhanced their resilience and satisfaction from completing challenging tasks but also gave them a chance to learn from the entrepreneurial journey of Nakata, which inspired many students to pursue similar paths.

The Future of FIP Talks

Looking ahead, Nakata announced plans for a major update to FIP Talks, including improvements based on student feedback about UI/UX. Artivation aims to secure partnerships with five schools in Japan and two overseas institutions to enrich collaborative learning while ensuring safe interactions among students.

Conclusion

FIP Talks has emerged as a pivotal educational tool that supports global connections among students through English presentations centered on their interests. This initiative exemplifies how innovative platforms can revolutionize language learning, making it a vital skill for young learners in an increasingly interconnected world. Nakata’s vision is not only to facilitate better learning experiences but also to cultivate a sense of community among students worldwide.
