Eurasia Energy's Innovative Battery Park in Hokkaido
Eurasia Energy Holdings is set to enhance the power stability of Hokkaido with its newly established "Eurasia Hokkaido Ikeda Battery Park". This ambitious project will incorporate ten units of the cutting-edge energy storage system, the Mega Power 2700A, developed by Power X Co., Ltd. Each of these units, boasting a combined storage capacity of 27.42 MWh, will play a pivotal role in stabilizing the region's electricity supply by participating in grid-connected charge and discharge operations.
Project Details
The state-of-the-art battery park is under development in Ikeda Town, Nakagawa District, and is scheduled to commence operations in October 2027. The adoption of the Mega Power 2700A represents a significant step forward, marking the first collaboration between Power X’s storage systems and Eurasia Energy’s Virtual Power Plant (VPP) platform, known as "ReEra". This integration is expected to optimize energy management in Hokkaido, contributing to a balanced supply and demand equation.
The project is backed by substantial support from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as part of its initiative to expand the adoption of renewable energy and system storage technologies. The project has been selected for a grant under the fiscal year 2024 program for support in creating renewable energy integration infrastructure, further solidifying its role in advancing Japan's carbon neutrality goals.
