Maeda Rina's Solo Exhibition '⁂'

From December 13 to 22, 2025, COPYCENTER GALLERY in Itabashi, Tokyo will host the solo exhibition titled '⁂' featuring the works of artist Maeda Rina. This exhibition aims to delve into themes surrounding the uncertainties of memory and the traces left behind in photographs, which are exhibited as if they belong to an unnamed constellation. The event is designed to challenge perceptions and provoke inquiries about the nature of personal memories and their representations through visual art.

Examining Traces in Photography

Maeda Rina approaches photography as a medium that captures ephemeral moments, regardless of how the images were created. She asserts that every photograph, even when the specifics of the moment are unclear, serves as a 'trace'—evidence that a moment existed. In this exhibition, Maeda will present a collection of both previously exhibited works and new creations that appear unrelated at first glance yet are intentionally orchestrated like a constellation of ideas. Through a thoughtful arrangement, she intends to explore the boundaries of images and phenomena, the fluidity of time, and the inherent uncertainties of memories that shape one’s personal identity.

Exhibition Details

The exhibition will be open for public viewing from December 13, 2025, until December 22, 2025, with gallery hours from 1 PM to 7 PM. The final day of the exhibition will see extended hours until 5 PM. There will be an admission fee of 500 yen, which includes printed material; however, please note that QR and electronic payment options will be accepted for this fee.
