Toei Partners with Charity Santa to Share Movie Experiences with Families in Need

Toei Collaborates with Charity Santa for ‘Share Cinema’ Initiative

Toei Animation, a leading entertainment company, has taken a significant step toward sharing the joy of cinema with families in need. In collaboration with Charity Santa, a recognized non-profit organization in Japan, the initiative titled 'Share Cinema' aims to provide children from economically disadvantaged families with the opportunity to experience the magic of movie theaters.

The Mission Behind Share Cinema

Established in 2008, Charity Santa has been committed to delivering special memories and experiences to children. Through various projects, they aim to foster a society in which adults come together to support the younger generation. The Share Cinema initiative specifically targets families who may have given up the idea of watching movies in theaters due to financial constraints.

The program kicked off during the summer of 2024, successfully granting a movie viewing experience to approximately 1,000 families. Its popularity led to an expansion, and by spring 2025, that number increased to around 3,000 families. This summer, an impressive goal of providing movie experiences to 4,000 families is set, marking a noteworthy collaboration with Toei.

Collaboration with Toei Animation

The latest phase of the Share Cinema initiative features a partnership with Toei Animation, known for producing popular titles such as 'Kamen Rider GAV' and 'Gojyuujer.' As part of their collaboration, families selected for the program will receive exclusive digital images related to these beloved franchises as a special gift.

Toei Films
Among the films currently enjoying popularity in theaters are 'Kamen Rider GAV: Invasion of the Candy House' and 'Number One Sentai Gojyuujer: Resurrection of the Tegasword.' Both projects embody the ideal of creating unforgettable movie experiences for deserving families.

Donations and Funding

To continue the success of the Share Cinema initiative, Charity Santa is actively seeking donations from the public. These contributions will be utilized to cover ticket costs and operational expenses necessary for facilitating the movie-viewing experiences. Between July 18 and August 31, donors who contribute 1,000 yen or more are promised original digital artwork related to the films.

Future of Share Cinema: 2025 Season

The upcoming Share Cinema season is scheduled from July 16 to September 14, 2025. It aims to support families benefiting from child allowance, school assistance, or welfare programs. This season will provide an estimated 4,000 families with 'digital gifts' that they can utilize at theaters across Japan, ensuring that every child has the chance to create wonderful memories with their families.
