Explore the Rainy Season at Sunshine 60 Observatory's Tenbo Park

Enjoy the Rainy Season at Sunshine 60 Observatory's Tenbo Park

From June 3rd to July 2nd, the Sunshine 60 Observatory's Tenbo Park in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, transforms into a vibrant space inspired by the concept of a "sky park". During this period, the observatory invites visitors to enjoy the rainy season, which often limits outdoor activities, by offering a comfortable environment free from weather worries.

Beautiful Indoor Landscapes

As visitors enter the park, they are greeted by stunning indoor displays featuring hydrangeas and clematis—flowers synonymous with the rainy season. The artfully arranged "Tenbo Hill" area, adorned with artificial grass, creates an inviting atmosphere for relaxation and photos. This unique setting allows guests to experience the beauty of rainy season blooms at an altitude of 251 meters, highlighting why every picture taken here becomes a cherished memory.

Workshops to Engage All Ages

The event features a variety of engaging workshops, perfect for families. For instance, families can join candle-making sessions that use glass art, creating jellyfish or snail-themed candles that reflect the rainy season. From June 14th to June 15th, coinciding with Father's Day, participants can incorporate message cards into their creations for a personal touch.

In addition, there are free workshops for children aged three and older from 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM, such as making traditional "teru teru bozu" (good weather dolls) to aid in overcoming the dreary weather. A fun coloring experience and torn-paper collage activities will also be available, allowing little artists to unleash their creativity freely.

Special Baby Days

As a highlight of the event, Baby Days will take place on June 26th and 27th. This day is designed specifically for parents and their little ones under 18 months. Attendees can participate in a delightful crawling race where cute babies will compete as their proud parents cheer them on. Additionally, there is a special opportunity for parents to engage in a free educational consultation about nutrition and child-rearing with experienced nutritionists and child psychologists.

One of the highlights for families will be the opportunity to leave their child's handprint on original Tenbo Park paper. This memorable activity acts as a keepsake for parents and children alike, capturing a moment in time.
