Green Ponta Action: Making a Difference through Sustainable Actions
In a significant announcement, Loyalty Marketing Inc. (LM), based in Shibuya, Tokyo, has revealed that it contributed a total of ¥8,502,000 to various social contribution organizations in the fiscal year 2024. Of this total, an impressive ¥3,358,968 was generated through user actions within the SDGs-focused app, Green Ponta Action. This initiative showcases how everyday actions can create a ripple effect for social good, fostering a culture of contribution among its vast user base.
Green Ponta Action is designed to promote sustainable living by allowing users to earn Ponta points through simple daily actions categorized as 'knowing,' 'declaring,' 'reflecting,' 'walking,' and 'sleeping.' Each action taken in the app aligns with sustainability targets, reinforcing the notion that small steps can lead to impactful change. LM has cultivated a collaborative approach to community engagement, where a part of the revenue from user actions is donated to organizations that address pressing social issues. To ensure equitable support, LM supplements donations to guarantee that each organization receives a minimum funding amount.
Moreover, the app offers users the opportunity to participate by selecting which organizations they want to support through a voting feature. This allows users to engage actively in social contribution activities, making philanthropy accessible and participative. Beyond the app, LM has also invested in tree planting initiatives at ‘Ponta no Mori’ in Bihoro, Hokkaido, and supported the UN’s Global Children's Future Conference, which aims to bring children together to discuss creating a peaceful and prosperous world centered around the SDGs.

Since its launch in April 2021, the app has seen over 1.3 million downloads, with daily user interaction peaking at over 110,000 and monthly active users exceeding 200,000, all committed to undertaking their own SDGs actions.
