Innergex and EOLFI Celebrate Launch of La Cense Wind Farm in France
Innergex and EOLFI Celebrate the Launch of La Cense Wind Farm
On April 2, 2026, Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. and EOLFI proudly announced the commissioning of the La Cense wind farm. This facility, located in Saint-André-Farivillers, approximately 25 km northeast of Beauvais in the Oise department, features four Nordex N117 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 3.3 MW, contributing to a total installed capacity of 13.2 MW.
According to Jean Trudel, President and CEO of Innergex, the La Cense wind farm is a key component of the company’s development strategy in France. It adds to their portfolio of sustainable and high-performing assets within the region, reinforcing their presence in Hauts-de-France and creating synergies with existing projects nearby.
Guillaume Jumel, Vice President and General Manager for Innergex in France, expressed pride in the successful community financing for the La Cense project. This endeavor showcases the local inhabitants' commitment to renewable energy projects, emphasizing the company’s ability to operate swiftly and effectively while staying aligned with regional needs. Furthermore, Jumel remarked on the importance of ongoing development in advanced wind and agrivoltaic projects in France, indicating that each new project enhances their ability to progress efficiently.
Youssef El Hayani-Taïb, Wind Development Director at EOLFI and historical project manager of La Cense, reflected on nearly a decade since the first local meetings, expressing satisfaction at seeing this initiative come to fruition after significant collaborative efforts with Innergex. The production of approximately 33,000 MWh of green electricity annually from La Cense is set to prevent approximately 1,425 tons of CO₂ emissions each year while supporting France's national emissions reduction and energy transition goals.
Community Financing and Economic Development
The La Cense wind farm is partially funded through community financing, launched in late 2025, inviting contributions from residents in the Oise department and neighboring areas like Aisne, Somme, Seine-Maritime, Eure, Seine-et-Marne, and Val-d'Oise. This initiative raised over €2.6 million in the form of bonds at an interest rate of 7.25%, complementing existing secured bank financing.
The construction of the wind farm, which began in February 2025, engaged multiple businesses, including local firms for the earthwork activities. This decision underscores both Innergex and EOLFI’s commitment to bolstering the economic vibrancy of the areas where they operate.
Long-Term Vision
The wind farm benefits from a 20-year electricity purchase agreement that ensures long-term revenue visibility. This initiative contributes to strengthening Innergex's presence in Hauts-de-France, with anticipated synergies with nearby projects such as the Bois des Cholletz wind farm in Conchy-les-Pots, alongside various other developments in progress throughout the region.
