Introduction to the Story

Meiko Morita is a high school student from Akita who receives an unexpected surprise when she is chosen as a special transfer student to the prestigious Amamiya Girls' Academy! Filled with excitement and anxiety about her new Tokyo life, she sets out for the city with big dreams.

However, what awaits her isn't the glamorous dormitory life she imagined, but rather the quirky manga cafe known as 'Hedgehog'! There, she will live and work alongside a unique group of residents as part of her service activities, leading to extraordinary daily experiences in her unusual one-tatami-mat lifestyle.

Character Introductions

- Meiko Morita: A second-year high school student from Akita. To support her family, she transfers to Amamiya Girls' Academy and takes up residence at the manga cafe-cum-student dormitory, Hedgehog. The eldest of five siblings, Meiko has a nurturing and responsible personality but often finds herself overwhelmed by her colorful companions. An excellent cook with a penchant for daydreaming and a tendency to slip into her local dialect, she is not very tech-savvy.

- Rie Amamiya: A second-year student who also works at Hedgehog. As the only daughter of the academy's director, she serves as the dormitory manager and has a carefree attitude towards wealth. Rie is a manga enthusiast and has an impressive collection, especially of yuri manga. Her misunderstanding leads her to believe that Meiko is a budding manga artist named “Mori Tameiko.”

- Marika Suzuki: Another high school student working at Hedgehog. She has a laid-back and disorganized nature, often seen bundled up in thick clothing while only wearing pants underneath. Known online as MariKa Berztree, she’s a popular content creator. Her family has a strict background in traditional flower arrangement, which adds to her quirky personality.

- Neo Nakano: A third student at Hedgehog. While typically innocent, her darker side surfaces when she gets passionate. Aspiring to become a professional gamer, she spends her days gaming and managing the cafe's technology. Neo is self-conscious about her petite stature but ironically is quite strong.
