Strategic Leadership Changes at Stockbridge
Recently, Stockbridge, a prominent private equity real estate investment management firm, has unveiled significant leadership changes within its Core and Value Advisors (CVA) business line. This move is part of the firm’s strategy to foster continued growth and improve operational efficiency.
Tuba Malinowski Takes Charge
Effective January 16, 2025, Tuba Malinowski has been appointed as the Executive Managing Director and Head of CVA. Malinowski, who has been with Stockbridge since September 2010, has played an instrumental role in the firm’s expansion and success. Previously serving as the Managing Director and Co-Portfolio Manager for the firm’s evergreen ODCE fund, Malinowski’s expertise has greatly benefited the firm’s operational dynamics.
Notably, she was the inaugural Portfolio Manager of the ODCE fund and has held various leadership roles, including overseeing the Atlanta office opening in 2010 and launching the ODCE fund in 2011. As Head of CVA, she will be responsible for directing the daily management and strategic initiatives of the business line while continuing to contribute to the Investment and Executive Committees.
Transition of Sol Raso
Malinowski succeeds Sol Raso, who led CVA for nearly a decade, from late 2015. During Raso's tenure, the firm's assets under management (AUM) surged from $5.6 billion in the first quarter of 2016 to an impressive $14.5 billion in the third quarter of 2024. Following this transition, Raso will shift focus towards company-wide growth initiatives and enhance capital formation processes, ensuring that Stockbridge continues its trajectory of success.
Mac Johnson’s New Role
In addition to Malinowski's promotion, Mac Johnson has been elevated to the position of Lead Portfolio Manager for the ODCE fund. Johnson, a dedicated member of the Stockbridge team for 11 years, was serving as Co-Portfolio Manager alongside Malinowski before this promotion. In his new role, Johnson will oversee the development and execution of the ODCE fund's investment strategies and will remain an integral part of the fund's Investment Committee.
Commitment to Growth
Stockbridge's leadership emphasizes the importance of nurturing an organizational culture that values employee development and collaboration. According to Sol Raso, the firm is proud of its diverse leadership team and looks forward to the innovative directions Malinowski and Johnson will take within their new roles.
