Yamato Holdings Earns Spot on Dow Jones Best-in-Class Asia Pacific Index for First Time

Yamato Holdings Recognized on Prestigious ESG Index

Yamato Holdings Co., Ltd. has achieved a significant milestone by being selected for the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Asia Pacific Index (DJBIC) for the very first time. This recognition underscores the company’s commitment to sustainable practices and transparency across various sectors, including governance, economy, environment, and society.

The DJBIC is part of the globally regarded indices created by S&P Dow Jones Indices that evaluates corporate sustainability through its Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA). This robust, multifaceted assessment considers economic, environmental, and social dimensions to identify leading companies in sustainability across diverse industries. Within the Asia-Pacific region, approximately 600 major companies were evaluated, and a total of 76 Japanese firms made the cut, including only six from the Transportation sector, which highlights Yamato's outstanding performance.

Yamato Group has set an ambitious vision for itself: to become a "value-creating company contributing to a sustainable future" by the year 2030. This directive is part of their medium-term management plan named "Sustainability Transformation 2030 – 1st Stage," which aims to enhance sustainability for both society and enterprises by integrating value across economic, environmental, and social angles.

A notable focus of Yamato’s efforts is the promotion of “green logistics” to mitigate climate change and the resolution of societal challenges through collaboration with diverse partners. The company's commitment is evident as it continuously shares updates on these initiatives with stakeholders, reinforcing its dedication to transparency and collective progress.

Moving forward, Yamato Holdings plans to persist in its sustainability endeavors, striving to realize a future where society and companies evolve together. By maintaining a transparent approach in its operations and enhancing its company value, Yamato aims to lead by example in the global push for sustainable development.
